So my fellow countryman Mason Ryan was right then.
"Faith".
And I have to be honest, I did have faith that WWE would knock it out of the park with this show and they did. Genuinely very pleased with the direction of the company in general this past year.

Brilliant, brilliant PPV. Smackdown MITB - solid ladder match, which I was convinced Sin Cara was going to win, then was hugely surprised when they gave the rub to Daniel Bryan. Would have preferred Wade Barrett, but still was pleased for DB - where do they go with him now as Mr MITB I wonder? Good start. Divas match - barely paid attention I have to be honest, but it didn't offend me. Mark Henry v Big Show - I actually had a power nap during this match so cannot really comment, but woke up to see Henry Vader bombing the chair on Show's leg. Surprisingly good feud this so far. Raw MITB - was routing for Del Rio, so obviously loved this. The slight botch when the ladder fell at the end didn't even detract from it for me, as it allowed Del Rio to place more emphasis on when he tossed Rey Mysterio's mask aside. Another very solid and entertaining match. Christian v Randy Orton - Excellent match. I have loved this feud, and thought that they nailed it last night. Was again surprised with the outcome, although knew if Christian won it would be by DQ. Very well done. I also thoroughly expected Daniel Bryan to cash in after Christian's beat down after the match. Let's not get greedy though CM Punk v John Cena - match of the year for me. It had a real ECW One Night Stand 2 vibe for me, when Cena was against RVD. What a crowd, and what a match. They genuinely for the last fifteen minutes of the match had me guessing, so many brilliantly timed false finishes - and they made Punk look exceptionally strong. The reversal of the STFU into the Anaconda Vice was a great moment - and totally unexpected. Only two slight botches in the match (the attempt to catch Cena into a powerbomb off his top rope leg drop, and the AA where Punk didn't quite land on his feet) but neither even remotely took away from my enjoyment of the match, in fact it only added to the realism for me in an odd way. Then the ending happened and it just got better. Del Rio teasing cashing in to wreck the party and then Punk running off into the sunset with the title were just amazing television. WWE has got it right here. In a big way.

I sort of feel bad that neither Dolph nor Drew (and yes, I know that they've made Drew pretty much a jobber at his point) managed to get onto the show somehow, though.

Hats off to the WWE here.
That was amazing. Such a complete shock, I thought all the hints that Punk would win (ROH mentions on facebook & twitter, an ex ROH guy winning MitB etc) were just red herrings to fool us all into thinking he had a chance. I never thought the WWE would follow through with it.
I freaking love this storyline! I honestly can not wait to see Raw tonight for the fallout from the PPV!
Bryan winning MitB was shocking enough but Punk winning too!

I saw the Punk/Cena match on a website this morning, and wow, that was very well done. I usually hate the "kick out of 3 of my finishers" type matches, but the crowd and the drama made up for it. If Punk is leaving, he is leaving at the wrong time.

WWE NAILED it last night. Fantastic show. Both MITBs were cringeworthy in an excellent way. Plenty of bumps that made me squirm, and some great high flying action. Miz looked like gold limping out after the briefcase, and Mysterios reaction to losing his mask was gold.
And Punk vs Cena? Holy shit, AMAZING ringwork, AMAZING storytelling, AMAZING ending.

I was this close to ordering the PPV last night, then for some reason, all my cable services just stopped working. Everything came back at some point during the middle of the night. I was able to watch a crappy version of the match on youtube, and it was fantastic.

What's the record for number of pages in a single thread? I'm sure Danielson is fired and Benoit have this topic beat, still. bdbs return made that ppv thread boom and reset somewhere over one hundred pages

Just got finished watching this show, and it was fantastic. Aside from the Divas, I enjoyed every match on the show (even Show/Henry). It made me extremely excited for Raw tonight.

I just finished watching the show and man I'm pumped! WWE put on a great PPV there and it was the right ending
1. What happens now CM Punk is gone with the WWE Championship 2. What happens to John Cena now he's fired 3. What is Del Rio's fate? 4. What will be Vince's reaction?
RAW is gonna be an amazing show I feel tonight.
WWE dropped the ball with last years Survivor Series finish but they got it right last night.
I still don't think it's sunk in with me that Punk actually won and not only won but looked like a million bucks in doing so.

This is certainly the PPV that everyone will talk about and never forget. I was really psyched as I watched the WWE Championship match. Agreed about the brilliantly executed false finishes. The crowd was going wild. All the Attitude Adjustments executed by Cena, Punk just kicked out from all of them. Reversing the STFU was also impressively shocking. I even hear Cole on commentary getting excited from seeing Punk tap out from the STFU, it's like Cena was the big heel in this matchup. Very long title match, but the best title match I've ever seen that didn't disappoint. As for the MITB matches, all were very long and filled with sheer amounts of pain but they were all very exciting to watch. I was rooting for Sin Cara to win but Daniel Bryan winning was also a surprising moment. And yeah, I wanted ADR all the time to win, and he did! Heh, interesting result from the WHC match that Orton would eventually get disqualified. Good job, Christian! You're an evil genius~ I love this PPV! I want to watch it again over and over.
