Seriously, it's been six years. Cena's hardly a rapper anymore, the logo doesn't spin anymore. Why keep the design?

If it were up to me the design would've been retired as soon as Edge won the title back in '06. I've even heard that Cena himself believes it's run its course.

Its been 6 years. Now is the time. Give the new champion a new belt. They when Punk comes back with the spinner that doesnt spin, they can unify the belts and use the newer belt.

Not necessarily identical to the big gold WHC belt, but combining the elements of that and the winged eagle might be pretty cool. Just...not a spinner. |

I think we could see a new WWE Championship on Monday.
It's a new regime, Punk took away the real WWE Championship, so they might debut a new Champion.
Would'nt surprise me if they did.

they can unify the belts. No. I don't care how "thin" the roster gets. If they unify the belts, all we'll get is Cena/Orton all the time with the occasional Miz/Unsuccessful Heel flavor of the month and no one will ever move up. Unifying the belts is a bad idea. |

Pretty sure he meant unifying Punk's unrecognized/real WWE Championship with Whoever's sanctioned WWE Championship. If they decide to crown a new Champion on Monday (Which I don't think they will) that match is a given. |

I think they should keep the design if the ECW Championship belt. That was a nice looking belt. A hybrid of the silver ECW belt and a more traditional belt might look nice. Maybe like a gold with silver highlights kind of look. |

The question in my mind was why didn't they bring back the old belt even when Triple H became champion in 2007? The belt itself screams hip-hop and really, John Cena has not really been a rapper since 2005 or 2006 (Not counting the raps he did earlier this year). Hell, Cena did not change the belt when he became World Heavyweight Champion.
