It as good apart from his opinion on the American Bad Ass. It was awesome. As was Big Evil. Taker needed freshening up and that did the job.
Plus it allowed him to show how good a wrestler he actually was.

But by the time he switched to the Limp Bizkit song and cut his hair I couldn't stand the gimmick anymore. The worst was when he had the short red hair and that terrible theme song that he had in Here Comes The Pain.

I'll give you that. However he slowly got in shape and improved and by the time he'd lost his hair and his rollin' theme tune he was consistently showing he could legit wrestle. I'll give you 2000 because I think he was even voted worst wrestler of 2000 by one magazine.

Words cannot express how mad I was when they switched from the (amazing) instrumental Big Evil theme to the "YYYYOOOUU'VE DONE IT NOOOOOOWWW" crap. Ugh.

They were talking about this on David Lagana's podcast and the reference was lost on me, so I'm now in the know.

Good article, even if the research on the track names is a bit spotty.

Ignoring the knocks on Bret Hart (I actually always loved Bret's theme...but then I am a "Hitman Mark"), I appreciate articles like these. I was a Music Performance major in college, and part of what I love about sporting events is when the PA systems make good use of music to either set up atmosphere, or to introduce somebody, or to just do something witty.
I see what he's going for here, though: this isn't just about the music, it's also about how the wrestler uses the music along with their overall entrance. If it was just about the music itself and how it fit the character, I'd be inclined to make a top five that included Mr. Perfect's theme, Hogan's "Real American", and Jake Roberts' heel "Trust Me" theme...and maybe a spot for Vader's first WCW theme, "Heavenly Thunder".
But it's funny, really over-the-top wrestling entrances are a relatively new phenomenon, so it's harder to judge those.
Though that's something TNA should bring back: before each PPV main event, show the match participants walking backstage to the entrance, with "intro" versions of their theme songs playing. I used to love it when Samoa Joe would be walking, and there'd just be these ominous tribal drums playing until he finally arrived and the Godzilla riff kicked in.
EDIT: Almost forgot. CM Punk's ROH theme song, "Miseria Cantare" by AFI? Might be the best entrance overall in the past decade.
