Last year or so, people seem to have been easing up on Triple H a bit.
I think it's because it's become increasingly clear that Triple H the Wrestler's days are fading quickly, while Triple H the Businessman is coming along.
And quite a few people like his old-school, NWA-ish take on the wrestling biz. It's when he's directly involved and sometimes makes guys look weak that there's a problem.
Look, I couldn't stand Hunter during the Reign of Terror either, which after he had such an amazing 2000-1 is quite saying something. But I'm willing to give Triple H the Businessman the benefit of the doubt, as both an on-screen character and when it actually happens behind the scenes.

They're still playing to the IWC. Now they're just starting to portray HHH in the way the stereotypical "IWC" thinks of him.

I don't give a f***, I'm a huge fan of Trips and I'm excited to see where this goes. I'm enjoying wrestling more now than I have in years. This is exactly the way I feel too. HHH is one of my favorite wrestlers and one of the greatest heels of all time. Sunday was huge, and yesterday was a continuation of that. The show was more wrestling and less talk. But, we got the big storyline of the night. This is probably the biggest storyline of the year aside from the Punk saga.

If they want to piss away all the electricity from last night by turning this into another McMahon family drama... Well, f*** 'em. I'm not sure what people were expecting. 2 hours of a grainy cell phone camera following Punk around Wrigley Field? That would have been a helluva lot more entertaining than last night's RAW, and that's not an exaggeration. Not that I hated the wrestling heavy show, but I just didn't care for any of it save the last 10 minutes. As for Triple H, I actually like where this (might) be going. As long as he doesn't get physical (which I think he won't), and as long they don't completely drop Punk from the story, I don't have a problem with it.

I got a problem with Triple H. Others should too. He won't be working in the ring.. SO what will he be doing? Yea.. Talking on the mic for a half of the show every week putting everyone to sleep. Hes no Vince on the mic, and cant do the authority figure anywhere close to vince. And it takes him an hour to finally get to the point.
WHY would anyone in their right mind want this as Triple H an on screen authority figure? They had a good thing going.. Now its going to be 2003 all over again.. Except with Triple H not wrestling so it will probably be worse since all you will get with Triple H is talking in the center of the ring with his long diatribe

HHH running the WWE will be a good thing, when that day actually comes.

I actually kind of dig Trips running the E. Hopefully he looks for actual guys and girls with potential rather than bodybuilders, football players and bikini models.

Kind of self righteous don't you think? We haven't really seen this version of the Triple H character before (I wouldn't really count the McMahon-Helmsley era) so we really can't pass judgement until we actually do. It's certainly different than having Vince vs. Anti-Establishment Face #1830819001. We essentially have a new Vince that can probably deliver 10X better of a match than Vince ever did.

For kayfabe, its good that Vince has finally been retired. It signals a sense of progress and change for the WWE.

It's not about if they where a bodybuilder, football player, bikini model ect
It's about if they have a passion for the sport, If they show a genuine interest then you have yourself someone who will succeed because they want to do the best they can rather then lifeless monotone underwear models doing soely for the paycheck.

People have been waiting for the time when he would actually be running the company, actually. As bored as they might be with him in the ring, they think he'll run it well. Yeah, if one guy's gotta have the final say on which guys to sign and which angles are approved, I'd rather it be HHH than Vince. Hunter's got better judgment when it comes to these things. I doubt, for example, that he would have scrapped Burchill's pirate gimmick because he hadn't seen "Pirates Of The Caribbean" and didn't understand why the guy was over.

Yeah, this isn't McMahon family drama yet.
If, next week, Vince tries to inject the WWE with a lethal dose of poison to bring in ROH because he won't let his company be taken from him, then it'll be typical McMahon family drama.

Triple H is going to continue WWE's recent trend of doing TNA stuff better than TNA. He's going to be in the Hulk Hogan role, and he's going to be much better at it.
