Anyone else find it ironic that after Sunday where we we had Punk win the WWE title, Christian winning the World title, Cena possibly "fired", Daniel Bryan winning Money In The Bank and all these other things that made the IWC happy, we end up getting what's supposedly our worst nightmare in Triple H running the WWE? I know it's storyline and all but still, I thought it was kinda funny.
As an aside, I'm not the biggest Triple H fan but I don't hate this angle. As long as he stays out of the ring (save for Wrestlemania), I wouldn't mind him as an authority figure.

People have been waiting for the time when he would actually be running the company, actually. As bored as they might be with him in the ring, they think he'll run it well.

If Triple H is willing to heel it up a bit in regards to Punk, I don't have any problem with him being around. From a storyline standpoint he's got good reason to personally hate him, after all.

I have no problems with Triple H in this role... It gets problematic when he starts to bury stars, though.

I have no problem with him being the on-screen authority figure, as long as he's not going to be a full-time wrestler anymore.

If they want to piss away all the electricity from last night by turning this into another McMahon family drama...
Well, f*** 'em.

Most people eased up on their hatred of Hunter the last couple of years. Matter of fact, when Vince called for "wrestling" be removed from the WWE vocabulary, you had people here begging for Trips to take over because Vince lost his mind. It shocked me how quick people pro-HHH after blaming him for every burial of their favorite wrestler.

I don't give a f***, I'm a huge fan of Trips and I'm excited to see where this goes. I'm enjoying wrestling more now than I have in years.

It doesn't look like a family drama. Because Vince looked like he already lost. If he were mad and screaming and all "I"ll get you" then it'd be something.
But its not like this development wasn't hinted at in Punk's promo already.

It CAN work if played right, and they do have a number of avenues to take here. The only thing I don't want to see is for the focus to shift to Vince and Trips. Sorry, but if one company earns my wrath for focusing their main storyline on older non-wrestlers, then the other will get just the same.
Other than that, they just have to pace it right and make sure to keep the focus on the talent, and there can be a great deal of money here.

Did you not hear the promo that kicked the whole angle off? It was always about the McMahon's, and Punk's issue with how they run the company.

I actually kind of dig Trips running the E. Hopefully he looks for actual guys and girls with potential rather than bodybuilders, football players and bikini models.

Hunter knows talent when he see its. And some of the all time greats were bodybuilders (Superstar Graham, John Cena, Batista), football players (Goldberg, The Rock), and bikini models (Trish Status).

But its not like this development wasn't hinted at in Punk's promo already. Exactly - I think it was a conscious decision to move Vince out of the authority role, and put Trips in there. I don't know if we'll hear from Vinny Mac for a while on this one.

It reminds me of something JR said I think on one of the roundtables about how different scouting talent is now. The talent out there isn't the same as it used to be with the territories, or when WCW and ECW were around, so he had to look outside and try to bring people in and try to sell them on wrestling. Of course there are failures, but the successes guarantee that they'll always look to those places. And as much as signing Sin Cara and Kharma sounds good, there's been little return thus far on those two.
