On 'Superstars' they aired a promo for WrestleMania 28, calling it 'the biggest event in entertainment'. Sports-entertainment has always been WWE's way of not outright calling themselves wrestling, but it seems like they've totally dropped the first part.
So, now WrestleMania will be comparable to other entertainment events like the Grammys, Oscars, etc? Lame.
I know this will come off as nitpicking, but I think it's kind of important that the company will no longer brand themselves as such anymore.

Playing devil's advocate it kind of makes sense. Maybe it will be the biggest event in entertainment, but by saying sports entertainment, that implies the World Cup, the superbowl, the Olympics. As far as it being bigger than the Oscars or Grammys? At least it's got a chance.

they stopped that months ago. I think it started with the Rock since he stopped calling himself the Most Electrifying Man in All of Sport-Entertainment and now he's just the Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment.

Someone really needs to explain to them that throwing around "entertainment" as a standalone label not only sounds ridiculous but is Herb & Jamaal levels of nonspecifity.

I get your point but I do think Mania is bigger than the Superbowl in a sense of people all around the World watch Wrestlemania. Sure, i imagine people around the world might tune in to see the Superbowl if they remember it's on at whatever time it's on, but WWE has a more global attraction than the Superbowl, at least in my opinion.

Hell, WrestleMania usually can't outgross Seltzer and Friedberg.

Didn't one of the announcers during Cena/Punk refer to the WWE title as something like "the most important championship in our sport"?

At least Zack Ryder and his lack of actual wrestling time doesn't have to lie about being a sports entertainer now.
