Rey's been losing a lot lately, and then he wasn't even there last night. I know some people mentioned that he might be injured, but I still think he could've walked to the ramp and mentioned that he'll be in the MIB match with the rest of the guys. I mean he's been one of the 2 or 3 most popular guys for years now, and he doesn't even appear on the Raw the day before his DVD comes out, even Ricky Steamboat was on Raw the week his DVD came out.
Since moving to Raw he's become an afterthought. I know there was some talk that he may be leaving or retiring, but it just seems odd to me to not have one of your most popular performers, who is scheduled to be on the PPV, not show up on the go home show before the PPV, with barely any mention.

I didn't even realize he was missing.
I don't even know what show he's on?

The thing that bugged me was aside from the DVD commercial, I don't think he was mentioned at all during the show.

It seems like ever since Sin Cara has shown up (including his promo pieces really), Reys light has dimmed some. He's my wifes favorite and he was advertised for a house show we went to in Oct (The Fan Appreciation show in CT) but he didn't show up. I forget if it was due to injury or what.

Well with all the losses he's been having recently, I'm gonna assume that he's going to pop out a promo saying that he's the underdog and then manage to win the MitB, pretty much because of it...and probably to promote the new DVD boxset. The thing that bugged me was aside from the DVD commercial, I don't think he was mentioned at all during the show. Well...does the match line up for MitB count?

Well as a fan I'm bored to tears of the guy so I'm fine with him not being there.
But objectively speaking it is kinda puzzling that WWE have a guy who is that over not show up once during the show.

He's stale at the moment. They've run the same "Underdog" story for almost 4 years in a row and I think even the kids must be getting turned off of it by now. And if they are the 18-30 crowd surely is. I know that the same argument could be made for Cena but at least he looks strong enough that Kids can simply ignore the Underdog element and just simply like him for being a great fighter.
With Rey his Underdog act is half the package. Without that he's simply a small guy that somehow gets the big wins, but with it he is a very bland face that gets even bigger wins.
I would suggest a heel turn but he is a very very great mascot for WWE as a product pusher so that probably will never ever happen

I don't think Rey is solid enough on the mic for a heel turn. Unless he paired up with Del Rio and Ricardo as some sort of Mexican stable. That could be quality.

It might of been a family emergency which I hope it wasn't. I just hope it was simply Rey Mysterio got a day off or something. Or he is stuck in Australia.

Meltzer said on his show today that it was Rey's week off, nothing more than that.

Smackdown is the only show that books Rey properly To never lose clean? Well, apart from Del Rio's debut, I'll grant that one.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's just enjoying a less hectic schedule now that Sin Cara is flying around.
Rey's been going strong for years and has had a lot of pressure on him as one of the companies most marketable guys. Bit of time off/missing a show here and there will be good for him.
Plus I think he tweaked his knee last week.
Oh yeah also forgot - whenever he goes to Raw he ends up with no direction until he's sent back to Smackdown.

Eh, I actually like when a wrestler isn't on the show every week. It tends to make their appearances mean more and keeps them from getting too stale.
Yeah, maybe he should've been there in some form to promote the MITB match he's in, but I really doubt it would make much of a difference on how well the show is going to do if he wasn't there to remind people he was going to be involved too.
