With CM Punk leaving (if he really does) who on the card can possibly benefit from this vacancy being created at the top of the card? punk has had quite a bit of TV time in the past year despite not being in the title picture. He's feuded with the top three faces (Orton, Rey, Cena). Is there anyone on the roster that you can see stepping in and taking advantage of the sudden need for another top level guy?

Between R-Truth, Alberto del Rio, and The Miz, there are plenty of heels that are either in, or near, the main event scene already. Punk's position as a heel on Raw can be filled rather easily by any one of those three. What Raw really needs is another top face.

Has Riley's face turn flopped already? Aside from his jacked up AAS physique I see nothing impressive about him.

Miz can't go on as a heel much longer. The crowd are loving him.

R-Truth killed his turn with really poorly paced matches. He can gain heat on the microphone, but when it comes to ring time people are looking at their watches. At the Adelaide house show Cena/Truth were getting "booooring" chants from the crowd - which seemed to be 95% pro Cena and lots of young kids!

Obviously Truth, Del Rio and Miz are going along fine with or without Punk on the roster. As for other guys maybe Swagger, Ziggler and McIntyre will step up.
Maybe elevate Kofi Kingston, or try to, again.

Judging from the crowd reaction he still gets, I don't think you can call his turn a flop. But I'll agree with you on that I can't seem to find anything impressive about him, aside from half-way decent mic skills.

If Punk actually leaves, I may be done watching the main event angles on Raw. I like Cena but I have little interest in him feuding with Alberto, the Miz, or even Truth. Of those I think that Truth would be the best, but I'm not sure if he's viewed as a legit threat to Cena.

What Raw really needs is another top face. Smackdown needs it too. I could see Sheamus starting a face turn in the future. They really need to give their faces something to talk about though. Just telling someone to shut up isn't really going to do it.

They really need to give us another reason to like him, because once his feud with Miz is over...he'll likely be just another guy. Maybe he'll feud with Ziggler for The US Title. Although I think that might be a step down

I think he's really good at conveying excitement and emotion, with his comebacks and his beatdowns. He's also got good size while retaining some explosiveness, unlke a lot of the more recent big guys that are just stiff as hell in there. As far as the match goes, he's gotta be carried, but a good wrestler can give him a good match imo.

Riley needs to insert himself into the Kofi/Ziggler eternal feud.

It's Primo's time to step up and avenge his brother vs Cena.

I don't see why Jim Neidhart would be brought into replace Punk. Edit: Aww, beaten to the punch
