This term gets used a lot but the announcers, and rightfully so, I mean it's their job to sell the show. Most of the time. But putting aside the hype, what actually is the biggest main event in Raw history in your opinion? Me, I gotta go with Austin and The Rock v nWo from just before Wrestlemania 18. In terms of sheer star power you have arguably the three biggest stars ever, Austin, Rock and Hogan, in the one match along with Hall and Nash who are big names in their own right. But what do you think? Joe Louis Arena! I was there!!!!! Me, my dad, and my older and younger brother all wearing our nWo shirts proudly.

Mankind vs The rock – Austin returns, Mankind wins his first world title and WWE win a major battle in the Monday night wars. Was coming in here to say just that. Biggest reaction I've ever heard on a Raw, beating out HHH's return in 2002. Said it a 100 times and I'll say it again; the pop when Austin comes out in that match is and will most likely forever be the GOLD STANDARD of what a massive f***ing pop sounds like.

for me personally, it was DX+Radicalz vs. Rock&Sock+Too Cool (2000/Dallas)...the heat in that match was off-the-charts, building was shaking, everyone was over, everyone went home happy That's what I would go with as well.

Austin/McMahon the night they finally beat WCW in the ratings.
From there on, the Attitude Era was off and running.

Just rewatched that for the millionth time and Jesus that pop gives me the biggest goosebumps. Great times.

Biggest: In terms of name value, it's got to be the nWo vs. Rock/Austin before X8. But in terms of significance, it's probably Austin vs. McMahon in April of 98.
My favorite? Two Man Power Trip vs. Jericho and Benoit in May of 01.

Austin vs. McMahon, as it was the main event that put WWF ahead of WCW once again. This. The biggest star in wrestling at the time vs. the owner of the company.

Sycho Sid vs. Bret Hart in a cage for the WWF title.
It wasn't enough they had the match. Undertaker and Steve Austin both made it known during the show that they were going to be out there. Austin was going to make sure Bret won so their submission match would be for the title, Undertaker was going to make sure that his match vs. Sid would not be changed.
Then, Bret shoves Vince, the post-match brawl (also featuring a cameo by the "injured" Shawn Michaels).
That was big. Wild, chaotic TV involving four guys who all wanted the WWF title. Made the title seem very important.

The biggest - literally - was that 10 man in 2000. So fun.
The best was Cena/HBK 2. And not just because I was front row for that match...

The bell never even rang on that Austin/McMahon 'match' so how the f*** does it even count? It basically never happened.

*Match Quality* big - John Cena V Shawn Michaels It speaks for itself really.
*Once in a lifetime and will never be seen again* big - Hulk Hogan, John Cena, Shawn Michaels V Chris Jericho, Christian, Tomko
A lot of f***ing star power in the match. 2 generational talents, the showstopper, 2 of the greatest midcarders of all time, and Tomko.
