JR Sounded so legit sad when Dolph stomped on his hat, like a disappointed father or teacher. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't know they were going to take his hat.Vince loves messing with him.

The Lawler fat jokes are just out of hand at this point. I could have stomached everything else if it weren't for Lawler constantly trying to insult Vickie. I understand she's a heel and we're supposed to dislike her, but Lawler just comes off as a disrespectful prick. Sure Vickie helps Dolph cheat to win, but how is that a more heelish act than the never-ending insulting comments Jerry makes?

Sure, when she was heavier it would have been good for a cheap laugh, but now they're not even accurate.

And people wonder why the mid card gets no reactions. If the company doesn't take it serious then why should the fans? One of the worst segments of the year for Raw.

I marked for Ziggler calling out King, but he quickly no sold it and then it just turned into a clusterfudge of nonsense and it seemed like the only real point was to make JR sad again, because it's been a few weeks since he was humiliated.

"What the hell am I watching?", was my response. But, at least Swagger won.

WWE does a lot of things I don't agree with recently, mainly booking decisions, but this latest trend of trashing their own workers makes no sense, unless they actually want to kill ratings and house show attendance. I miss the days when every PPV was the biggest ever and the superstars were larger than life characters that were supposed to be the best in the world. Why would anyone pay money to see these guys if the announcers are crapping on them? In the Truth/Morrison match, when they took it to the stands they were saying how exciting it would be to come to a show and have these guys right in front of you and then later, they no-sell the talent. It's one thing when guys were on the way out but these guys plan on staying, as far as I know. One's a former champ and the other, a face on the rise. They announcing seems to be focused at people who don't like the WWE. Like two loser friends in school and one gets accepted by the in crowd and then trashes his friend. You hit the nail on the head. I've done some indy commentary, and even I know that you are supposed to majorly put over both wrestlers and only put down their face/heel allignment, respectively. If you talk about how wrestlers are boring, not worth watching, bad at wrestling, and so forth, why should the audience think otherwise? It follows the same guidelines of how to give a good promo - if you say your opponent is a nobody, then you just beat (or worse, lost to ) a nobody. Not to mention, the current commentators, who spend most of their time bickering with each other, aren't even good at it! Jesse Ventura was a blast to listen to when he put down Vince, but these commentators are just like regular people who act like they hate other half the time and laugh like best friends, breaking character, the next. When their worst insults are along the lines of, "yeah, you would think that, wouldn't you?" it's time to bring in someone who knows how to do their job. That segment was among the most unprofessionally executed I have seen in my twenty years of being a wrestling fan, and that includes the smallest indy promotions. It's like they totally lost sight of the purpose of the announce team. Most importantly, it's to sell the product. They used to cover a wrestler's weakness, like those beer gut guys in the 80s by saying what incredibale athletes they were, how hard their punches were or how tough they were. It was blatant BS but whatever, it worked. Now it's like their intent on exposing anyone's weakness, (He's boring!, He's a nerd! etc) even the other announcers. I hate when Cole has to mention any sort of reference to the past as "dated". He does it all the time. Apparently cool people only talk about current things. When Jesse would trash Hogan, it was because he thought he was a hypocrite, not because he thought he was boring. It was a personal bias he had. He would make exuses for the heel's behaviour. All Cole is doing is being obnoxious. ANYONE can be obnoxious.

Cole needs to go be a manager for Gods sakes, he is a goddamn joke on commentary nowadays. He just puts himself over, which no play by play man should ever do. Gordon Solie, Gorilla Monsoon, JR, Mike Tenay, hell even Tony Schiavone never did that. If they were color commentators that is fine, but play-by-play guys should be the voice of reason not a geeky, idiotic, jackass.
King needs to hang it up as well, his jokes are super lame, FYI Vickie is not fat anymore. God bless JR, that man tries his best to put over the wrestlers and their performances, but he cant with douchebag Cole and the "stand-up comic" King. Vince must have a taste for complete shit, why dont you mess with Cole more, not JR. The crowd has always hated Cole since he debuted in 1997 and they love JR, even when he was supposed to be a heel for a few months.

I feel for Vickie. She has to sit out there and take that abuse for no reason. I know she gets the last laugh because she actually looks great, but how is King even considered a face commentator with such disparaging comments on a weekly basis? I never cared about the commentators much, but It's really starting to irritate me now. I understand her being a heel and all, but it's like he's just crossing the line now and he comes off as a total c*** bag.
As for Cole, I don't care too much. I don't let it bother me. At least JR is out there to perform some kind of proper commentary. He's the only hope left for Raw.

Anyone else notice that JR just...stopped? He literally gave in and just gave up during this match until Dolph insulted him for whatever reason. And JR's response was "What did I do? I'm not saying anything!" At least for one night, Jim Ross just gave up. Yeah... and fair play to him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not back next week after that bullshit.

I think JR was really upset Ziggler stomped his hat. The whole thing was just really weird from start to sandbagging finish.

JR did mention a "loaded hat gimmick", which seems way unlike him to break kayfabe.

Man, that guy takes so much abuse and gets screwed with so much, every time he comes back I can't believe it, because you know that it's just temporary until Vince tries to replace him again. You would think that if he's so good that they keep trotting him back out there only to treat him like crap, they'd actually groom a replacement who's LIKE him in some sort of way. Instead, they stick with the same old crap and then get upset every few years when they realize that their commentating teams (on Raw at least) are consistently awful. And the only replacements they ever seem to find are either a) ran off TV for doing the same thing JR does and maintaining some semblance of dignity amongst the stupidity (Joey Styles comes to mind) or b) complete and utter failures (the Adamle!) from day one. Don't get me wrong, WWE's had their fair share of bad commentating throughout their years with or without JR around, but at this point, putting him back there with King, with whom he has history and rapport but whose schitck grew old YEARS ago, and Cole, who's become nothing but a total vaccuum behind the booth since his heel run died out, is just kind of asinine. If you're gonna bring the guy back on TV, let him do his job, which is to put the product over, not act as some sort of ignored, underappreciated, disregarded butt of jokes. WWE's treatment of JR has really bothered me for a long time, didn't mean to hijack the thread.

The way JR is treated on commentary is an integral part of the weaknesses of WWE commentary these days, which seems to solely exist now as a means of Vince McMahon verbally venting through Michael Cole.
