Now, we all know the term X-Pac heat, but if there is one thing I've learned is that after X many years, at some point a wrestler will get face pops just for being around and are nearly impossible to turn heel. Let's say X-Pac made a comeback theoretically (I know due to Hep C he can't), with his recent videos he's been posting seeming to get a good reaction from the IWC, and him finally being cleaned up and in a good place, could the unthinkable happen and X-Pac heat finally go the way of the Dodo?

seeing as during the DX run in 06 after X-Pac appeared at a house show to help them....a few X-Pac chants would break out on tv during various segments where dx would get beat up. including some very loud "we want x-pac" chants the raw after the house show moment happened....because of that i think x-pac would get cheered now, he is a very very good wrestler still.

Yeah, he'd get nostalgia pops. Although I do suspect that if they really wanted to they could turn him heel easily enough. Even after all these years there's still something about him that makes you want to see him get his ass kicked.

He might get a reaction like Diesel did at the Rumble. An unexpected nostalgia pop; X-Pac is in pretty good ring shape, though, so he might hold his own during matches and feuds.

He could, given how they presented him.

X-Pac was a seriously underrated wrestler and I'd love to see him back for a match or two.

Really, a lot of X-Pac heat was due to some bad booking and in some cases, just bad luck.
D-X ends, and he continues the gimmick, leading to X-Factor. At this point, it was just dated and getting irritating. He could have really used a repackaging.
Invasion, putting him against a natural face like Kidman was kind of dumb if he was meant to be sympathetic.
Then there's adding him to the WWE's nWo. This was decent, but it was obvious he was going to get crapped on because he was replacing Hogan as Hogan turned face. He was a step down in a big way, but it couldn't really be helped, fans didn't want to boo Hogan.
Enough time has passed to where he would probably be over.

I think he'd get a good nostalgia pop, I was always a fan anyway. He was pretty good in the ring too so I wouldn't complain if he returned.

X-Pac was well liked in 1998-99, in a way "X-Pac heat" started after he turned on Kane. At first it was just regular heel heat, then by the time he formed X-Factor it was, "his character's played out" heat.

I always felt when DX reunited in 2006, X-Pac should've been the 3rd man. Since HHH and HBK wanted to be more protected, let X-Pac take all the ass kickings and attacks such as an Rated RKO attack.
It would make him the underdog and sympathetic babyface like he was in the 90's.

Time heals all wounds. He's been gone long enough for his antics to seem fresh again, or to get a nostalgia pop at the very least from the few people who still watch that were fans back in the attitude era and has others have said, even with his injuries over the years he remained a very good worker when clean and sober.

I think he'd get a rather large pop if he came back. People mostly remember him from DX and largely pop for attitude era nostalgia.
Still, while on DX, I'd like to here "Oh you didn't know" one last time on Raw.

Yes, he'd be extremely over, at least at first - there were, until recently, guys like Holly who were getting pops based on the general companywide overness of the Attitude Era.

Check out his recent performance as 123 Kid - dude can still go. Holy crap, he went as 1-2-3 Kid lately? Usually he still bills himself as X-Pac.
