Is David Otunga's "A-List" gimmick suppose to be that of a Kardashian? Where he's supposedly famous but we don't know what he's actually famous for?

No. It's just a "clever" play on the fact that his wife is a celebrity (although I have serious reservations about considering her an "A-lister"). But does he even use this character anymore? When I think of a wrestler with an A-lister gimmick, sunglasses and a hoodie are not exactly the first attire that comes to mind.

Otunga doesn't even have a gimmick. if they give him one I would be all for it.
I'm convinced that him and Hennig didn't get over as a team because they never let Otunga talk or even gave them a feud with another team like the Usos.
As a wrestler I think Otunga is coming along. Some people say he sucks but you have to remember how guys like Batista were when they first got called up to the main roster. Batista wasn't any better and he had at least a year or two more experience than Otunga who has only been wrestling for about a year and a half to two years.

They NEVER got any mic time and they didn't feud with anyone and people wonder why they got no heat. Jerry constantly talk about how a guy like Otunga lacks charisma and personality but they stripped away his cocky "A-List persona" and made him a lackey to Punk in the "New Nexus" and didn't allow him to speak.

Neither of them got any mic time in the entirety of their tag reign... or tenure in the New Nexus. It's kind of hard to make anyone care with no discernible reason as to why we should.

Id personally rename them as The Headliners, rename McGillicutty as Joey Hennig (Joey sounds much douchier than Joe), and give them club douche gimmicks. Ed hardy inspired trunks, give them both sunglasses and douchey hoodies to come out in, let Otunga just douche it up on the mic as the same prick he was in NXT.

I like Otunga. I agree that he should get mic time as the douche of the team.

Watching the match on Raw, I was actually impressed by Otunga. He and Hennig actually do a lot of decent double teams. I won't say he's in the leagues of Bryan or Jericho, but he's certainly come ahead by leaps and bounds compared to how he was on NXT. And in the usual WWE fashion, he was overhyped when he was awful, and is now being treated like rubbish when he's actually getting better.
