From Scottish Pro Wrestling Press Release from Scottish Papers:
SPW Press Release 6/7/11
Scottish Professional wrestling, who have run family friendly wrestling events around the region since 2008 and have created talents that now wrestle all over the UK, are proud to announce that long-term SPW Heavyweight Champion James 'Darkside' Scott, who lives in Dumfries after a move from the central belt last year, has signed with world renowned Japanese promotion Zero-1. Created in 2001 Zero-1 Pro Wrestling, runs weekly tv shows in Japan and is the countrys answer to the USA's World Wrestling Entertainment. They have quickly built a repuation as a proving ground for the upcoming top talent in world wrestling and SPW Owner Paul Geddes feels that James 'Darkside' Scott will do just fine in the competitive world of Japanese strong-style "Puroresu" (Pro Wrestling).
"James is a perfect fit for Japanese wrestling, hes always admired the Japanese strong style and its a lifes dream come true for him. James is the closest thing that the UK has to a Japanese styled wrestler. His style, athletic prowess and natural ability has been wowing crowds all over Europe for years now and its high time the big leagues came calling. Wrestling stars all over Asia will be quaking in thier boots when they see the impact that SPW Champion James Scott will have in Zero-1 Wrestling".
James Scott will begin his first full time tour in Japan at the end of July and will be reporting to the Zero-1 Wrestling Dojo in Tokyo, thankfully we can all look forward to regular returns to the UK to wrestle for Scottish Pro Wrestling in Dumfries and across Scotland and defending his SPW Heavyweight Championship in the future.
----------------
Maybe the odd embelishment here or there but gotta make the papers listen! So yet another of our talents signs up to a featured promotion. Good times for talent in the UK!
Heres a highlight video of James Scott in action:
