So there'd been a few threads in the past on the WWE section of the boards about what Vince'd do to replace Cena if he ever got fired/left (very very unlikely, I know) the WWE.
So I was kind of where, hypothetically what Cena do with himself in the indy scene? I know he'd be damned big news wherever he ends up and could probably name whatever price he wants, but what particular promotions do people think he'd jive with? An unscripted Cena would be...interesting to see, I think.

When Cena isn't booked as Super-Cena, he's very very good. His matches with Umaga and RVD show this. Let loose of WWE limitations, I can see him being better than Hogan was, due to his athleticism that he rarely gets to show. He'd be huge anywhere he went. Especially as a heel.

If money were no boundary, the reaction he'd get in ROH or PWG would be a sight to see... and not good for him.
Realistically, he'd only be able to work New Japan.

"Especially as a heel." John Cena advertised on indy cards and showing up in roughly his WWE character would bring in young fans the likes of which they never saw. And just selling his opponent's offense as he does WWE heels would legitimize them

I think any Wrestling Promotion would sign him in a heartbeat. He's probably the most popular wrestler in the world right now.

No indy in America would be able to afford him, but if they were able to, he'd be a gold mine because annoying fans would probably try to give him a ONS 2 like reception and he would just turn it back on them with his abilities.

He'd go to Japan, make a fortune and become a better wrestler.
I like Cena.

I'd say considering that he may be in bad shape, he'd probably quit wrestling for an acting career.
