I don't know if I'm in the vast minorty here, but I avoid spoilers and just try and watch some wrestling when I can, but this week's Impact was fantastic. Great week of tv even though I can find some flaws in it, not everything can be perfect. I'm also not a big IW fan, but this week was a great program. If they can actually put on good shows like this ower time I think they can succeed in the long run. It's not a short solution for them, but a consistent showing of quality shows, and if they're like this one I'll support them.

AJ losing again was a major fail as was the whole calamitous last ten minute segment with Steiner/Bully Ray/Anderson/Hogan/Sting. Apart from that it was a pretty good show IMO. I was shocked but the match I enjoyed most was Devon/Joe.

The promo to open the show lasted 20 minutes. I nearly switched off thinking this was going to be another infamous "16 minute" Impact.
Then informing us that the Bound IV Glory series was continuing on house shows reeked of fail. It was almost like they were saying
Which of course nobody is doing since the television product turns off so many fans. On the plus since very few saw it, I guess they can get away with lying and telling everyone that
Devon vs Samoa Joe was horrible to watch. And they also announced that it would be Joe vs Kazarian at Destination X, so the three way is NOT going to happen. Oh I almost forgot. The crowd was actually chanting for Devon. Does anyone know if Steve Small had another little meeting with the Impact Zone's 'cast members'?
The X Division 3 Way was the best match of the night, but confuses the hell out of me since they had three guys there that the fans know who they are, yet are sticking Austin Aries and Low Ki into the PPV with some guy no-one has a f***ing clue who he is, and a dangerous spot monkey like Jack Evans, instead of putting Jimmy Yang or Jimmy Rave or Matt Bentley or Kid Kash there instead.
Joe beating up Kazarian in a bar later in the show was just so hokey and contrived. A camera crew just happens to be there of course.
The Knockous Elimination Tag was only worthwhile as a bathroom break. For a televised tag match, it's absolutely ridiculous to spend 5 minutes watching 5 different entrances for 6 women. Why aren't each team coming out together and spending a little more time wrestling, or giving the extra couple of minutes to guys that can go? Anyway, Tessmacher hit Winter with the "Ass-tastic" that she demonstrated on the Spin Cycle. Eliminations came fast with some really stupid spots, to drive home the Madison/Tara and Winter/Angelina loyalty storylines. I'm just glad that the eliminations were quick. Although I will say that Angelina should put on a little weight and watch some tapes, because not only could Winter lift Mickie for the finish, but she took the bump for the DDT beautifully.
Gunner cut one of the least convincing promos I've ever heard. I actually wound up laughing my ass off at the end of this because I remembered his little twitter rant about how those of us criticising the product should learn to cut promos.
AJ and Daniels contract signing was rather pointless, and they've set it up so it's blatant that Daniels is going to turn on Styles at some point. Jerry Lynn and RVD's involvement at the end was pretty pointless arguing about who was X-Division first, but set up a 4 way for next week. Gunner came out and jumped AJ after the promo was over and he was giving high fives to the front row.
This match wasn't horrible probably because it was so short, but AJ and Gunner facing off in a THIRD match for Bound IV Glory points was outright stupid. Having it finish even quicker than the women's tag was stupid too. Seriously I timed all of these.
Backstage pre-tape promo with Velvet next talking about how she was always bullied because she was the runt of the litter. Seriously weak and ubelievable "back story" as she put it, and stated that the stipulation for next weeks handicap match against ODB and Jackie is that if they lose, they stay gone from the Impact Zone.
Mexican America came out for what I hoped was a match, but instead was an in-ring promo where they named Hernandez as the 'President of Mexian America', bashing America, about how they've beaten all the other tag teams, and how they aren't in the Bound IV Glory series because they're discriminated against. The British Invasion come out to defend America's honor and challenge Mexican America to a match, since they haven't beaten them. They refer to Sarita and Rosita as "Los Protitutas" and get jumped. And after this part of me died inside because having hoped I'd never see him on television again after he disappeared from Immortal for no explained reason, ROB F***ING TERRY makes the save for Magnus and Williams.
I am begging you SpikeTV. If you buy TNA, make your first cut from TNA's roster Rob Terry, and I will tune in to the show every week, buy whatever products TNA sells, the PPVs and attend live events, knowing my money will never pay that stiff to stink up the ring ever again.
We then get a backstage segment where Ray, Abyss and Gunner are going to leave the locker and head to ringside for Steiner's match against Sting. Abyss can't find his mask so they look for that while it goes back to ringside at last for the main event.
Steiner jumps Sting, and still loses after Sting hits literally 4 moves in the entire match (two of which were kicks), before connecting with the Death Drop. The match might have had potential if it wasn't the shortest of the night.
This wasn't the worst Impact but I have to say it wasn't enjoyable to watch. Limited commercial breaks in this broadcast apparently so none of the matches were interrupted. But we only got 29 minutes of wrestling.
Devon vs Joe - 6 minutes X Division 3 Way - 6:30 minutes 6 Woman Tag - 7 minutes (not including 5 minutes of entrances) AJ Styles vs Gunner - 5 mnutes Sting vs Steiner - 4:30 minutes

My biggest complaint about the show in general was just the absolutely random dropping of the whole "Winter is drugging Angelina into being a zombie" storyline with no resolution whatsoever. Yes, it was stupid to begin with, but you've been running with it for MONTHS. The least you could do is run some kind of angle around it, instead of a 2 minute promo.

I thought it was quite a solid show, Xdivison match was great, They built upon british invasion v mex america, devon vs joe was surprisingly good, joke sting is enjoyable as all hell, I'd say the only draw back was the main event not being the x division guys.

It was a solid episode, and I liked it a lot. I could have gone without the main event and Hogan, but the rest of it was very good. On top of that, they even announced matches for next week which they need to do more often. (Crimson/Roode, yay!)

AJ jobbing to Gunner after the PPV would make a bit more sense but why job him before the PPV to a guy that won't even be on the show? I'm thinking guys like Gunner and Crimson will end up in that Final 4 for BFG at the No Surrender PPV, but unless TNA is truly deranged neither of those guys will actually main event BFG.

I applaud you Splinter, this show was just terrible The opening segment was just brutal shit. I'm not too crazy about Joker Sting like most people on this board, but the problem is Hogan. I just do not wanna see Hulk Hogan on my TV. I don't care if Sting beats the hell out of him and shoves vitamins in his mouth, I just want Hogan gone. I don't care if Hogan's defeated, I don't care if Sting beats his ass weekly. I'm just so sick of Hogan. I'm sick of Immortal, I'm sick of all of it. This is not what I wanna see!! I'm just past the point of caring, and Immortal is actually making me not care about Sting... Hogan's promos are just so dull and boring, and he really doesn't talk about anything important. He just talks and talks and talks and talks and I f***ing hate it with a passion. Add Mr. Anderson to the mix and... This reminds me of WCW in mid 1998, where Hogan & the nWo would come out and talk about nothing and waste time talking about shit nobody cared about. It was old in 1998 and he's still doing it!! Devon vs. Joe was really good, but Devon had no right beating Samoa Joe. I don't care if it makes sense within the context of the story, the fact that the weaker half of the Dudley's beat Samoa Joe just makes me angry. It's DEVON!!! Samoa Joe was at one point TNA's hottest star and a major draw...and he's losing to Reverend Devon. I don't wanna see Joe lose to a jabroni like that, I wanna see Joe kick ass and dominate like he used to. What makes me even more angry is how The Impact Zone was firmly behind Devon! The once Undefeated Samoa Joe. The Former World Heavyweight Champion, who has beaten men like Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Scott Steiner, The Entire X-Division...loses to Devon. It's f***ing ridiculous. ...and this thing with his kids has got to stop. Is that Devon's gimmick? Family Man. Where's Bully Ray so he can put those f***ers through a table again? God I hate Devon and while Joe vs. Kaz should be a great match, I don't wanna see it! I really don't care about it. I want Joe-Styles-Daniels, that alone is enough to make me wanna pay for the PPV. Why tease it and then take it away from us? AJ vs. Daniels is great, but it's just not enough... The X-Division 3 Way was awesome. But then again, these are usually the only good things about this show Okay then, so backstage Angelina is normal again. Hell, she's basically the same Angelina she was 3 years ago. Then as soon as Winter's music hits, she's a Zombie again? That minor inconsistency doesn't stop the fact that the 6 KO Tag Match sucked ass. Just some terrible wrestling. The KO Division is an embarrassment. Mickie just doesn't have that same fire that she had in WWE... That contract signing was just meh. I get it! This is TNA, we're one big happy family. Whatever... Lynn was awful on the mic, and RVD was RVD. Contract Signings are always stupid anyway AJ vs. Gunner was pretty decent, but AJ is just so over. AJ is one of the few wrestlers in the Impact Zone who is actually over, and TNA obviously sees more long term potential in Gunner than AJ. Which is a f***ing shame. Gunner is just so generic and he bores me to tears... So Velvet Sky hates bullies? Yeah f***ing right!! Are we supposed to forget how she and Angelina bullied Lauren backstage at every opportunity? Are we supposed to forget how she bullied all the other KO's? The Beautiful People gimmick is basically a team of whores who think they're better than everybody and lets them know it... Velvet's gimmick is that of a Bully. Mexican America just needs to go away. Anarquia is just so f***ing awful on the mic I can't stand it. He's the most irritating character in pro wrestling today. The British Invasion promo was okay but nothing great. They're just better as heels Sting vs. Steiner was a joke. This is 2011 and TNA obviously doesn't know it. I really want some new blood in the main event...and I also want Hogan & Bichoff gone from TNA Just a terrible show. On a scale from 1-10, this show was a 2

I'm usually one of the guys who complain about the quality of Impact each week, but I actually did enjoy last night's show for the most part. The matches were decent enough and I've learned not to tune in until after the 20 minute mark to avoid Hogan/Immortal's stupidity.
I do have to say though that the only thing I look forward to every week is the X-Division 3-Way, and we've only got one more of those. If it didn't take work away from their current roster I'd be in favor of them doing an indy showcase match like that every week as a potential tryout.
Oh and I'd like to thank Splinter for not using spoiler tags. If I didn't already know next week's results I'd be pretty pissy about that.

I thought it was a pretty solid show. Nothing standout great, but not terrible either. I really enjoy Joker Sting so the 20 minute promo at the beginning didn't bother me as much as it usually does. I just wish the matches were a bit longer, though they were pretty good outside of Joe vs. Devon and Steiner vs. Sting. I still get that feeling they spend more time talking about why wrestling matters than they do actually uh, wrestling. Even if this isn't actually true.
It was also pretty cool to see Matt Bentley again.

From the forty or so minutes I saw, it wasn't a bad show. Nothing really memorable either, but nothing terrible.
Square in the middle of mediocre.

For wrestling fans you can't completly hate the show since with the X division challenge and the BFG series it gives you more than a few matchs that matters. It's the booking that is somewhat annoying and they job AJ and Joe to garbage.

I'm getting tired of EVERYONE on the show during some interview, throwing in "wrestling matters here." It's such a stupid thing to say when, by the definition of what the company means when they came up with it, it doesn't really mean anything at all. It's just a stupid slogan to say, yet they keep saying it as if they're trying to prove something or make themselves look different from WWE, and it doesn't work that way.
It's annoying and means nothing and by the end of each Impact Wrestling show, I have a headache from my eyes rolling so often from so many people saying "wrestling mattes here."
