When Jeff was sent home from tapings, has it been elaborated whether he was sent home on "Paid Leave" or Unpaid?
Just curious really.

I think Jeff is on a guaranteed contract. So it's likely that besides bonuses, he's getting paid.

It's like what Flair and RVD have, having a set number of dates each, so he probably isn't getting paid while out.

Any word on when he is expected to return? The way I've understood his suspension is that until he gets his day in court, he's out of TNA. After that it really just depends on whether he's given a light or heavy sentence (I believe he's pled Guilty, so it's more a matter of getting his day in court and sentencing) The reason I ask, is that If he's being paid it would seem like TNA would be actively AGAINST all the continuances, or possibly cutting him loose as a "cost-cutting" measure.

Unless I've missed something recently, Jeff plead Not Guilty. That's why it's taking so long. I'm no court expert but I believe if you plead Guilty you are sentenced then. The only reason I can think of to plead guilty is if you know the punishment won't be too severe and you want to get it over with, or if you feel that a guilty plea will keep you from being sentenced as harshly.

Yeah, he plead not guilty but, is working on a plea deal I believe.

Yeah, pleading not guilty just means they have time to work out a plea agreement. If he plead guilty then he would have been sentenced right then and there. He will change it to a guilty plea once something is worked out.

Ok, that's where I was confused. He's not guilty until such a time where being guilty will serve his needs.....

I hope he gets some prison time He'll get some, North Carolina has some of, if not the strictest drug laws in the United States. I believe the shortest mandatory sentence is 30 or 60 days.

They're stupid if they ever bring him back.
WWE would be too.

They're stupid if they ever bring him back. WWE would be too. But he's one of the biggest draws (atleast as a face), so he'll most likely be back eventually.

I'd hate to think that, with their current financial situation, that TNA would be stupid enough to send him home on a paid leave.
Regarding his court situation - He's pleaded Not Guilty thus far. When your lawyer approaches the podium in the courtroom, they automatically plead Not Guilty for you, giving them an opportunity to work out a plea deal with the prosecution. If he'd pleaded guilty, this would have been finished by now and he'd have been sentenced as well as ridiculously stupid for having done so. I'm not sure what the exact charges against him are, nor the specific laws and subsequent punishments, in that particular state but going on the assumption that this is his first offense(I really have no idea but I'm not a big Hardy fan and I don't recall seeing any prior arrests for anything like this) I seriously doubt he'll do any REAL jail-time. The plea deal will most likely be for a lengthy probationary period with a possibility for minimal time in jail(30-60 days max, I would guess.) I've recently been through this myself in Kentucky due to an addiction to painkillers and ended up doing 120 days in jail after completely screwing up an opportunity the state had given me a year earlier to be on Felony Diversion(although the charges, substances, and locations are different.) Luckily I've been clean for a little over a year and wasn't trafficking anything.
