From Lords of Pain:
I know there is some mystery as to his condition, however it would be a shame if he was gone completely. I read a newz report a while ago that said he was doing stand-up comedy in Florida. Maybe that is picking up for him? Regardless, all the best to him.
On an unrelated note- when I went to the roster page to verify this, I didn't realize that a) Eric Young was TV champion, and b) he currently looks like Necro Butcher after a romantic-comedy makeover montage.

He better have BIG medical condition. His head is actually a prosthetic created by a joint venture of Stan Winston, Rick Baker, and Jim Henson's Creature Shop. With the success of the nearly Lifelike Dixie Carter Muppet (You can hardly tell that it takes a team of two trained puppetmasters to operate) they've modified the design.

The man who single handedly made TNA scrap their fans voting for who would number one contender angle will be missed.

FORMER ROH CHAMPION GONE FROM TNA by Mike Johnson @ 11:03 AM on 6/17/2011
TNA has released Desmond Wolfe aka former ROH champion Nigel McGuinness, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Wolfe, who had been sidelined for some time with a health issue that prevented him from wrestling for the company, was last seen appearing as the TNA Xplosion Commissioner, setting up a tournament on that internationally syndicated series.
After a stellar run with Ring of Honor that included a ROH title run, Wolfe was slated to sign with WWE but the company opted not to sign him after he went through their screening proces. TNA immediately snapped him up and put him into an angle with Kurt Angle that led to some great matches.
Wolfe was put on the back-burner when the Bischoff-Hogan regime entered the picture and never regained his momentum in the company before injuries forced him out of the ring.
In recent months, he has been writing a sitcom and has also been doing stand-up in the Orlando area.
==============
I hope that Nigel/Desmond doesn't rush back to the ring and aggravate whatever caused him to be forced from TNA.

Awww man, this seriously sucks. Always loved the guy, no matter if he was Nigel or Desmond. :/ I hope we can see him in the ring again, nice and healthy because he's got a load of talent.

Sad really. Was built up as a real threat to Angle, and just...gone with nary a whimper.

I'm not too upset as I didn't see them using him any way. Was the story a few months ago of him having Hep C not true?

I'm not too upset as I didn't see them using him any way. Was the story a few months ago of him having Hep C not true? Randy Ricci claimed it was, and then James Caldwall over at the torch admitted it was true in a blog too. Generally the dirtsheets are keeping quiet about it since he doesn't want it out there. But it doesn't seem to be a secret in wrestling circles.

London Brawling had everything. They had ring ability, chemistry, awesome personalities, and most importantly, Chelsea. They had it all and they never got off the ground.

I really dont get TNA's blatant disregard for continuity when letting guys go so easy.
I wholeheartedly agree if someone asks for their release cause they are unhappy or you are having strong backstage disagreements you should let them go most of the time, but not like in that very instant they ask for it.
Even if its in Xplosion and no one watches it, if you had him set up as the the Comish less than a month ago enforce his contract till at least the tournament he set up takes place...
If you brought back Foley and 3 weeks later he quits enforce his contract till you can retire him in a more logical way where there is a sense of closure...

Ring of Honor, if you're listening, sign Nigel immediately. They are currently looking for someone to do color commentary for their upcoming TV program, and Nigel would be a perfect fit, especially since he's been doing stand-up comedy recently. MAKE IT HAPPEN, ROH!!!

This sucks, but here's hoping he takes off whatever time he needs and can actually come back and wrestle again someday.
