I am wondering if a comparison can be made between Jim Herd and Dixie Carter as neither of them are wrestlers and to many people, seem not to be "wrestling people". They are more corporate than wrestling. Neither seem to have THAT much understanding about the business, or so it seems Is it fair to compare the two?

Nah Dixie is much hotter, in a milf kind of way, that is about the only difference though.

WCW was (still is) watchable with Herd in charge. TNA, with Dixie in charge, isn't!
I'd do her though!

Tba is/was entertaining to watch under Dixie and without Dixie andd her desire to see tba succeed you'd still just have John Cena, Orton and HHH to go online and gripe about

Thing is I honestly think that Dixie wants to learn about the industry but she just hasn't put it together. Herd just seemed to be assigned the company and imposed his vision on to it. Carter just shows a very abject loyalty to her guys despite repeated failure.

They seem to be on opposite ends of the Bad Boss spectrum if you ask me.
Dixie seems content letting the inmates run the asylum while Herd just couldn't help but stick his fingers in everything.
Ironically enough TNA could probably benefit from someone like Herd right now.

Not some clueless moron imposing an insane vision onto the product. The problem with Carter is her loyalty after abject failure of those who she has loyalty towards. I admire her loyalty to her business partners BUT its business and you have to stop rewarding failure out of some unearned sense of loyalty. Her problem isn't that she isn't hands on enough, in fact she knows enough to know that she doesn't know enough. BUT those who she leaves in charge can't get the job done. Jarret, Russo, Hogan, Bischoff, Taylor, and a lot of others have gotten 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances and they screwed each of those chances up. They also are hurting the product big time. I think Carter means well but she has to learn that success with different people is better than failure with your boys.

When your authority has no experience in the wrestling business, their attempts at fixing things are just about guaranteed to end badly.

Well I wasn't implying that Jim Herd himself would be an improvement.

One was an executive at Pizza Hut or something and the other is a daughter of the wealthy owners of an energy company. Jim Herd actually had SOME executive experience, though it did not suit him well for running a wrestling company. I think one key difference is Jim Herd enacted some of his own ideas for gimmicks and characters. I haven't heard any stories of Dixie having any creative input. Jim Herd seemed more willing to fire people and more likely to get angry. Dixie has a reputation for being almost too nice and supportive. The only times I've heard of her being angry was with her own fans who chanted "Fire Russo!" and fans who criticized TNA on Twitter.
