... TNA could add to the roster who would be an immediate, overnight game-changer?
Realistically, is there anyone in the indies or anyone who might be able to get released from WWE, or who might get released from WWE soon, who could turn TNA around and make a real, ongoing spike in the ratings?
I mean, guys like Cena, Orton, HHH or even Undertaker, etc. aren't coming to TNA, so is there anyone who could actually join TNA and make, well, an impatc?

No. They've brought in every realistic big name they could have brought in and it hasn't made a difference.

No matter who they bring in, the same people will still be in charge.

If they couldn't do it with Hogan... no.
It's going to take a change at a deeper level than just "add another big name" to move the ratings up.

Absolutely not.
They could bring in the entire current WWE Roster and they'd be back down to their usual numbers in months if not weeks. As long as the current booking team is around and as long as the business side is lacking there is slim to no chance of TNA being able to rise up from where they currently are no matter who they bring in.

Kurt Angle wasn't. Hulk Hogan did change things, but not for the better in terms of business. So no, I don't think there's any way.

The problem with TNA isn't the talent, it never was. The problem is the booking. Hell, they may have one of the best rosters in professional wrestling PERIOD, but you'd never know it, because the show is being held up by Hogan, Bischoff, and all these other old guys trying to relive their glory days. With the mainstream exposure they have now, if they were putting on the kind of matches they were in TNA's golden days, if they were truly the alternative to WWE that the TNA fans want them to be, they would definitely make an impact (no pun intended).

Hogan proved that they could get a brief bump in ratings, so obviously word can reach potential viewers. However, they couldn't even hold it for a week. That would never justify the expense. If they tried it again, the show may not be so awful (it would be hard to be worse than that one) but I still doubt they'd retain enough for it to be worthwhile.
They don't need a game-changer, they need a safe niche. That takes month after month of good, consistent writing and booking.

For the long-term? Nope, not at all.
Even if they added Cena, they might get a really big " What the hell!?' ratings bump, but that'd never translate into being a 'game changer'.
Not that WWE could either really. Witness the Rock etc not really changing anything outta the status quo over there.

Basically what everyone has said. Nothing will change with management and their direction. They can't have a top heel because Hogan will always be seen as more important and they can't have a top babyface because Hogan isn't willing to look as bad as a Vince McMahon and he can't really be wrestled, at least on a regular basis.

Necro Butcher would bring a huge change to TNA's current programing...granted a bloodbath between him and Flair would lead to the first two rows being refered to as the "Impact Splash Zone".

Paul Heyman.
Simply because he'd only come in on his terms.

It's not the talent, it's the booking.

The only name I could think of would be Batista (if he isn't back in WWE already). In all honesty, there isn't a lot of game changers about - not even in WWE, or else they wouldn't have relied so much on The Rock on their biggest show of the year. Even a guy like Jeff Hardy whose popularity among the PG audience was huge not so long ago will have limited impact on a company courting an older audience.
I like the fact that TNA have talent that were established elsewhere and sometimes wonder if their ratings would plummet if it weren't for these recognisable characters, but the next step is for them to get the younger guys over and make new stars that wrestling fans are crying out for. It's a lot easier said than done - just ask Vince McMahon.

Pete Gas.
But not Rodney or Joey Abs, that would ruin it.
