The thing that gets me when I read results here is how, even after all these years, TNA still insists on having almost no clean finishes, even in PPV matches. It's ok to have some outside interference now and then, but why all the freaking time? If you do it so one guy can keep his heat and keep a feud going, why not just not book a singles match, and instead do a tag match or stipulation match? Feuds need clean finishes at some point most of the time, no?
As for why WWE gets less criticism, I'd venture to say it's largely because WWE doesn't really take chances; things are very by the book, rarely coloring outside the lines. I find it incredibly dull, but it also means less outright bad 'Crap, I guess.
I don't really follow either company outside of what I read on the board, but from what I can gather, TNA is like watching a fiery ten car pileup on the parkway that spills over into the opposite lane, while WWE is like watching paint dry.

Can we say that this was equal to the fingerpoke of Doom yet?

I'm not done, but I don't blame people that are. Seriously, even before the main event, the show was pretty wrecked. Completely screwy finish to the women's match, involving Rosita somehow holding down Winter with a poor roll up for what seemed like 20 seconds before ol' man Earl could be arsed to get in the ring and count. A tag match where all 4 guys were in the ring doing random spots for the last 5 or so minutes, with no attempt by the ref to restore order. Morgan losing a first blood match without actually bleeding, making him and the ref look like complete dolts. A double countout in a completely subpar number one contenders match. That was as bad as a PPV gets, from a booking and execution standpoint. Anyone else notice how TNA matches tend to have these moments where they completely fall apart?

I honestly didn't mind them doing that in the tag match. I'm a big Lucha Libre fan and all the guys being in the ring at the same time without the refs doing much about it is very common down in Mexico. Also Beer Money usually does that in there matches anyway. It may have went a bit long but I thought it was okay. I actually thought the ending to the First Blood Match was kind of cool. I never would have thought of that type of finish for that. I think if he had squirt Morgan in the head though that it would have been much better since wrestlers never bleed from their chest hardly.

My schedule rarely allows me to catch either show, but from the little bit that I do, this is a fairly accurate analysis.

Wait. Wait wait wait wait wait. Morgan lost a first blood match because his opponent hit him in the chest with blood? That's just comically bad.

Hernandez squirted fake blood on Morgan's chest while the ref was attending to a fake fan run-in.
Seriously
What blows my mind is that anyone liked that finish, but oh well at least someone did.

Well Jeff Hardy was sent home from the TV tapings, so it looks like he does have a problem and the main event wasn't a work. He couldn't go so they ended it quickly. And as for TNA falling apart, heard that so many times now it's lost all meaning. After going on a big UK tour, getting record ratings and doing an impact taping that actually sold a lot of tickets outside of the impact zone, calling them falling apart is hyperbole.

Ok I didn't watch the PPV, I don't know what happened on the rest of the card, and I havent watched a full episode of Impact since probably the Fox Sports days, but I will say this.
If it was clear that Jeff wasnt in any condition to wrestle, then they should have had the match much earlier in the PPV, Sting still wins in a minute, then someone else thats "worthy" of wrestling a main event comes out and challenges, and they have the match to end the show to at least give fans a main event.
I cannot possibly fathom ppv main event ending like that. No way, no how.

What would have worked was Hernandez busting himself open, headbutting Morgan, and then putting his bandana on to cover it up. Actually, before the squirting blood thing, he did get busted open & use the bandana to wipe it off, but yeah wiping his blood from the bandana on Morgan would've been cool.

We have all put up with a lot garbage with TNA over the years. But crap Hardy pulled in the main event after all the Dusty finishes on the show I'm done. I don't understand how they think this will fly. It didnt work 10-12 years ago when the same idiots were trying it in WCW & it won't work in TNA today. The people i feel sorry for are the guys who have busted there ass for years in TNA. Styles, Joe, Daniels, Beer Money MCMG, Jay Lethal, Hernandez. They deserve better, hell WE deserve better. I would put money on them being out of business by this time next year. Bottom line I am done with TNA so long, farewell Auf Weidersein, goodbye. lol@bolded
