Ok this is my first post ever on the TNA board. Maybe some of you see me talking in the WWE DVD thread. Well I have a question about a TNA DVD. I was at a local buy/sell/trade place earlier today doing my normal hunt for WWE DVD's and they also happened to have a decent number of TNA DVD's as well. So all but 2 of these DVD's were TNA PPV's from 2005, one was the best of 2007, and the other was the DVD I have a question about. TNA Best of X Division Matches. I noticed the year on the back said 2003, and I was startled to discover that it didn't have a UPC code. I had a feeling about it so I went ahead and bought it. I paid 7.95 for it, so I think that was a decent price. The match selection looks very interesting as well. I've never watched much of TNA, but all the matches are from 2002/2003 so seeing TNA's early days should be interesting. But can anyone tell me more about this DVD? The fact that it doesn't have a UPC code is very interesting to me.

I believe that it was released by TNA independently like ROH DVDs are released now. I could be wrong though.

Their first three DVDs - Best of X Division, Title matches and Bloodiest Brawls IIRC - were only released through their website originally.

Yeah, it's one of their original DVDs that's out of print. They're a bit of a collectors item. And like the previous poster said, they were released solely thru the website.
Supposedly, the matches were pretty solid on it too.
The only TNA dvd I've ever gotten and been truly disappointed with was the Fallen Angel one, with it's stupid clipped matches.

It's been re-released recently, packaged together with the second Best of the X Division DVD.

It's been re-released recently, packaged together with the second Best of the X Division DVD. You might be thinking of the DVD "Best of the X Division Volume 1" which is a different DVD from "Best of the X Division Matches." "Matches" covers earlier stuff, from before the 6-sided ring, like back in the Asylum. "Volume 1" covers stuff from around the time of the first Victory Road PPV and later (2004-05). I know "Volume 1" was re-released bundled with "Volume 2" because I have it, but I'd never heard of this earlier DVD being put out in a 2-pack.

I have this dvd....bought it used from MovieStop.
It's one of the "original" TNA dvds back in the Asylum days. They were released in very short nubmers initially.

I have that one too. Its a great DVD. Still on the lookout for that original Best of the Bloodiest Brawls. The only one of the original releases I don't care for is "The Best of 3 Live Kru".

The only TNA dvd I've ever gotten and been truly disappointed with was the Fallen Angel one, with it's stupid clipped matches. Indeed. That dvd pissed me off. If you look left you see the type of face I had once I realised that just blew $30 NZ on it. How the hell do you have some great dvd's like best of AJ Volume 2, Best of the Bloodiest Brawls Vol. 1 (2), Best of Jeff Hardy and countless others and then put out a shit dvd like that?

I have those three original DVDs. A couple years ago TNA was selling the ones they had left as a package deal so I bought one and all three are pretty good. That Best of the X-Division DVD has some good matches and gives a pretty good look at the beginning of the X-Division.

might as well ask it here rather than start a new thread, are tna dvd's region free or do they have similar region coding as the wwe ones? i ask cos ive been very interested in shoptna.com's brown bag special for ages but wasn't sure if the dvds would play on my region 2 player
