Ok, hear me out. I know a lot of people do the whole "Kurt Cobain, voice of a generation" thing, and after that wore of down the years, the backlash started. The thing is, while they did get huge, it seems most only know the big singles they had. They have quite a few songs that are far more musically complex then "Teen Spirit" etc, that I actually think they have become under-rated from a musicianship standpoint. A few lesser known tracks that I love:

some people under rate them. Especially the people who go on about "they are only remembered so well because Cobain killed himself." Being alive and in the teens at that time I KNOW how much more massive they were then compared to now and know that statement to be bullshit. Nirvana is one of those bands people shit on because they got so popular I think.

Yeah, I definitely think some who weren't around at the time etc seem to retcon them as only being big because Cobain died. The dude died when they were basically the biggest thing going. He does get the advantage of never turning into the washed up old rocker, and well forever be in his 20's to people.

I don't think I've even heard a Nirvana song, but I guess this thread's a good place to start. Will do that later.
Something funny to be said about an nPo sig being followed immediately by a New Ponexus one.

Yeah. From what I've seen, so many people seem to hate them or say "they sucked" now that they're almost under-rated.
Nirvana's pretty much my favorite band of all-time. But I really don't like some of the Incesticide stuff like Big Long Now or Hairspray Queen.
All of their proper studio albums are great (as is Unplugged), but In Utero is easily my favorite.
I hate it when people act like 'Teen Spirit is their only song (or the only good one). It wasn't even the best song on Nevermind (that would be "Drain You" or "Lounge Act" IMO).
Some of the rarities from the box set are also great and I like them better than some of the album tracks, such as Verse Chorus Verse (not to be confused with Sappy which I also dig):
And Mrs. Butterworth (Language warning):

Everyone that's really famous is overrated by someone that's pissed off about hearing about them.
