Ah, the old New Line Cinema logo. The stuff of legends. Great stuff you have so far out of the series, TR. I know I don't comment much on them, but that's because you've been doing movies that I've barely seen, but the Critters franchise. OH...I know my share of them.

I have never seen a Critters movie Same here. The reviews are really good, though, TR (even if I don't share your disdain for Christian Bale).

GuyofOwnage, You have the ROTLD box set, mine checking something for me? According to this thread at Blu-ray.com forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=191609&page=13There's talk over at the blu-ray.com forums under the UK section that this may be indeed be "region free". People are saying that when you first put the disc in you will get a prompt saying that it is playable in Region B players only, but then hitting the "Top Menu" button will just bypass that prompt and start playing and this was confirmed on three different blu-ray brand players. Not sure if you have another BR player or a PS3, but can you confirm this?

Right now, I can't confirm or deny this, as the package from Amazon UK is still in transit (that picture I posted wasn't mine, just one that someone posted on the Blu-ray.com Forum), but that development would not surprise me in the least. It wouldn't be the first time that a region lock could be circumvented with the click of a button, because some companies are just really crappy at region locking their discs. Although I don't ordinarily use it for Blu-ray (that's what my computer's for), I can try popping the disc into my PS3 when I get it in the mail, and confirm it from there.

I picked up a crappy region free BR player and the demons 1/2 steelbook and ROTLD. Having the original soundtrack was too good to pass up. May have to get the NOES box set there as well, but I hate not having part 6 in 3D.

Could be one of those movies to watch while drunk It is. I watched it for the first time on Sunday. Stone cold sober. It was pretty terrible, but enjoyable in a bad movie kinda way. Watched it with my wife and friend the following night while drinking and found myself liking it a lot more than I had any business to.

(even if I don't share your disdain for Christian Bale). I've been throwing those comments into the reviews lately with the mindset of "well, if this gets completely ignored, maybe somebody will at least take me to task for that." Glad someone noticed. ;D Much thanks on the comments, DSR and Friskey.

And, while I know she gets flack for the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake, I dug the hell out of Rooney Mara in GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. So...there's that.

It's weird to explain my dislike of Rooney Mara. Was she terrible in it? Sure, but so was everyone else. I think what turned me off is in an interview she said something to the effect she was thinking of leaving hollywood because, "Doing Nightmare on Elm Street isn't what I came here to do." Everyone has to start somewhere. Famous actors like George Clooney, Rachel Ward, and Johnny Deep all had early roles in horror movies. It just felt to me like she was disrespecting the genre.

I understand that. I mentioned many Horror Threads ago how disappointed I was when reading the "Crystal Lake Memories" book. Almost every "actor" they interviewed seemed to talk down about the genre and the Friday the 13th series in particular. The only people that didn't seem like the work was beneath them were Kevin Bacon and Kane Hodder, who are ironically the most famous people in the whole series (Corey Feldman, too, but I can't remember if they got him for the book or not, and I don't feel like digging it out right now).

I'm glad you reiterated that - I was actually just thinking about the Crystal Lake Memories book a few days ago, and was trying to remember what exactly you said about it. Pretty much sums up my feelings to the letter. Although, to be fair, I think a few of the DIRECTORS seemed to really enjoy themselves and talk about the series as nasty ol' fun, especially Tom McLoughlin and Rob Hedden. Oh, Rooney Mara...I COULD type out some nasty, drawn-out rant, but to make it short, I look at her (and, really, 95% of the current generation of movie "stars") basically the same way I look at Randy Orton. Is she technically alright? Yeah. But there is NOTHING about her that excites me or makes me want to PAY MONEY to see her. Just my $.02.

Hopefully I'm not being a ninja again, but Shout Factory has confirmed that the TV edit of Halloween II will be on a separate dvd in the Halloween II release!

So, with Prometheus coming up, anyone notice the shift in advertising from some mystery issue to this "children's nursery rhymes"music with horror elements?

Didn't Halloween 2 already get a release not too long ago Yes. Universal released their BR with Terror in the Aisles (as you can guess I get my name from this film) as a bonus feature along with the alternative ending and deleted scenes. The Shout Factory release will have: The Theatrical Version and the Television Cut with added footage not seen in the theatrical version Audio commentary with director Rick Rosenthal Audio commentary with stunt co-ordinator/actor Dick Warlock The Nightmare Isn’t Over – The Making Of Halloween II, featuring Rick Rosenthal, Lance Guest, Dick Warlock, Alan Howarth, Dean Cundey and more.. Horror’s Hallowed Grounds: Revisiting the original shooting locations Still Gallery Theatrical Trailer, TV and Radio Spots More details and developments coming soon! If the transfer is better and doesn't replace the Moustapha Akkad presents title card like the Universal disc did it might be worth the double dip. Plus much better cover art.

Homicidal tendencies, wild mood swings, obsessive stalker personality...and such a fine body. *swoon/fear*
