For anyone interested, this week's Entertainment Weekly (Doctor Who cover story) features a 1-page interview with R.L. Stine, regarding the 20th anniversary of Goosebumps. I haven't read it yet (left the magazine at work by mistake), but I thought I'd give a heads up. Also, I now feel old.

I still have a good 25-30 of those books sitting in an attic somewhere. Looking back on them, they're not the greatest things in the world, but a few of them (especially the first "Night of the Living Dummy" book) are pretty damn creepy. I'd also like to point out Troy Steele's amazing "Blogger Beware" Goosebumps blog site, which is both authoritative and hilarious. www.bloggerbeware.com/

So...is this a new low for low budget horror? I tend to think so. www.amazon.com/Zombie-Babies-LaRocca-Phillips-Qualiana/dp/B008I5OIEI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344215858&sr=8-1&keywords=Zombie+babiesFor one thing, it seems like EXACTLY what radical right wingers think that EVERY abortion clinic is....for another....it looks like something TROMA wouldn't touch with a ten foot Toxic pole. And lastly...abortion as the fodder for horror movies is something that really hasn't been handled very well at all in the past. I dunno. This movie just seems like the equivalent of the guy at a party who tells a REALLY racist joke and laughs hysterically, while everyone else just kinda looks on with uncomfortable expressions on their faces.

They honestly should have gone the "Asylum" route and titled it What to Expect When You're Expecting a Zombie. As overplayed as BOTH zombies and "chick flicks" are, they could have honestly made a decent spoof movie out of that, if they really had talent.

Universal's Direct to DVD werewolf movie. Weird, cause it just screams "Syfy Original".
