A month ago, I purchased NCAA Football 12 for the X-Box 360. I was very excited for this game. I had played for many many years and thought this was the ultimate game in the series. Within weeks...I returned it back to gamestop in frustration over the complete bullshit that it was. The problems I came across:
One Handed Interceptions by Linebackers...usually returned for Touchdowns:
Never in my life have I ever seen a 240+ pound man leap up in the air, pick off a ball going 40mph, land and run faster than the rest of the field for a touchdown. This happened so f***ing often that my 96 accuracy QB would throw at least 1 or 2 per game.
Speaking of accuracy...
Why is it that my 96 accuracy quarterback couldn't hit a car if it were standing 2 inches from him? I think my QB threw like 10 more picks than TD's and every time he threw a sideline route, it was overthrown completely...even if the receiver was just running an out route. Hell one game I had a wide open receiver in the end zone and he overshot it to the concessions stand.
"How many tackles can he break?"
Why is it that the CPU's HB can easily run for 200 on my defense, even if he's a 70 overall?
65 overall HB>96 overall HB
The blockers refuse to block for my starter, but when my back-up came in, they blocked like the 07 Patriots. I think my back-up outgained my starter by season's end, which shouldn't be happening.
Only a few plays work
I think I had to keep running 3 different plays only. And it had to be a drag route that usually worked for a 5 yard gain. Anything thrown beyond 5 was a pick or overthrow. Post routes? One-handed picks, curl routes? overthrown, Out routes? Thrown completely out. Fade route? Everyone jumps to the ball...except my receiver who...
Run away from the ball
I'll never get this, most receivers don't catch in stride...or at all. They just kinda drift away when its thrown to them...leading to a pick.
I have more, but I'm thinking of doing a write-up on this at some point. What do you guys think of NCAA Football 12?

I've not encountered that problem at all. In either Road to Glory or Dynasty mode.
Hell in Road to Glory, my QB(my player in RtG) threw the least amount of INTs in his freshman year out of all of the QBs in the nation.
And on top of that, I've had a wide variety of plays work out. And my team was one of the best in the nation in fewest rushing yards allowed in the entire season, I think it was like under 2,000 total rushing yards allowed.
And the kicker? My QB is the starting QB at f***ing New Mexico!
We even went 11-1 my freshman season, losing only to TCU in multiple overtime.
And I was playing on Varsity difficulty, without affecting the sliders.

This game takes a LOOOOOT to get used to. Sometimes I still scream when the fatass linebacker is chasing my tight end and without looking he jumps backwards 5 feet in the air and knocks the ball down with some forcefield.
When this game wants to win, it is going to f***ing cheat which is why it is impossible to be a pocket passer. Even when playing as Andrew Luck or Kirk Cousins you have to run it at least 15 times a game just so the defense doesn't go into jesus mode.
Also no warp tackling my ass.

I've been disappointed with the last few NCAA games. In fact '12 might be the last one I buy.

Never played NCAA 12 yet, but already I can tell you it isn't the worst ever. I bought "Facebreaker" from a discount bin, and I can already tell you it sucks monkey f***. All the boxers are 60 to 90 times faster than you and get all thier moves off with pinpoint perfect accuracy. I was dumbfounded with how easily I was beaten, even in practise mode.
Needless to say, I'd probably like NCAA 12 because I don't like playing on the harder settings.

That's the difference, I took on All-American, because it's what I've been playing and having success with the last few years. In my Online Dynasty, we played Varsity to make it simpler, and as a result I went 14-0 with Wyoming in my only season of doing it. The problem was that made the game a little too easy and less fun because there was no challenge to it. Granted the bullshit plays popped up once in a while, but nowhere near as much as it did in All-American. I play All-American on 11 with no problem, but 12 it's a pain in the ass because of fatass linebackers who play defense like they're corners.

It sucks. I liked the last game, but the 65 speed MLBs racing down the middle of the field to bat down every pass makes me what to murder kittens (more than I usually do).
Not to mention I had a pass bounce off the face of my WR into the arms of some fat DL and returned for a TD as any attempt to tackle him was impossible for some reason.
But the thing I've noticed in this game is that a WR who is wide open over the middle isn't at all, as the LBs will somehow, some way, bat down the pass.
It's like the game is taunting you.

Eh, personally, I am really enjoying NCAA 12. The big thing is they have finally discovered how to make realistic field degrading and dirty unis, which adds a whole new level of realism to the game. Now I admit some of the problems you have are there, but I've been playing it for a few months now, and I am really having fun with it.
But hey, to each his own.

Honestly, I view Madden 12 as much worse than NCAA 12.
That said, the WR ball nonrecognition is absolutely horrible. I can't tell you how many times I've thrown a pass just to see my WR run right to it and do absolutely nothing. He doesn't try and catch, drop it or even avoid it. It just sails right past him like he didn't even see it.

I haven't thrown over the middle in a Madden or NCAA game for years. The interception ratio is way to high for that throw.

Did they ever fix the instant replay? I remember playing NCAA 09 and everything was overturned, I had one game where my opponent caught the ball about 3 yards out of bounds and it was overturned into a completion.

Worst sports game ever? Not even close. It's far from perfect but you can do worse. My glitched, never-patched, "we have no other reports of such problems, so you're full of s***" copy of MLB 09; The Show, comes to my mind.
Madden this year has a similar problem with linebackers jumping up to block passes. It almost reminds me of old NES football games where if the ball passes the player they block or pick it off. If it so much as passes over them and it isn't a plain floater pass, they jump up and get it EVERY time.

NCAA 11 pisses me off a lot. When it wants you to lose, you'll f***ing lose. The second part I'll agree with. I loved NCAA Football 11 overall, but it will do that at will. There was a game I played in the online dynasty. I was USF, 11-0 and 1 game away from the National Title playing 4-7 Maryland. 2 games before my starting QB got hurt (he had 24 TDs and 8 INTs that season, so you see why he's valuable). So I'm forced to put in my back-up. Granted, my back-up played well in that first game (3 TDs, 0 INTs) but in this game it seemed like he couldn't throw a pass to save his life. On top of that, we couldn't run the ball (something we excelled at that season) and when we did get big gains, we'd fumble it away. We got to the redzone, it'd get picked off. Maryland, meanwhile converted 3rd and long each time and held the ball for what felt like 13 minutes the whole time. The game ended with them winning 10-7 after we failed to convert 4th and 5 when the ball was batted down at the line by a linemen. In frustration, I cheated and turned teh X-Box off before it got recorded. So I replayed the game...and it felt like I literally re-played teh same game. The same things happened and the game ended with Maryland winning 10-7 after a batted down pass on 4th down in their territory.
