After Jeff lost to Hardy and got himself and Karen fired, she should have protested to Sting. He could then offer her a chance to keep her job if she or a substitute could win a match against one of the Knockouts. If she won then she keeps her job, if she or her sub loses then both get fired.
Build up through the first hour with her trying to get someone on her side for the match but have everyone abandoning her because they refuse to put their necks on the line for someone who ultimately would be ungrateful for it. Then when the match starts, have her just beg and plead for her opponent to just lay down for her and let her keep her job. Other KO instead just hits her ridiculously hard and pins her/ makes her tap out.
At the end, have her be dragged out by the faces who she made life hell for and let it be pretty much known that she burnt all of her bridges amongst the knockouts.
Ta-da, a more meaningful payoff then what we got.

Ta-da, a more meaningful payoff then what we got. The reason she left was because she had a broken foot & needed surgery, so her having a match probably wouldn't have worked. I guess a sub could've worked, though it wouldn't have been as dramatic as her herself losing.

Because of the foot surgery, I would have had Sting tell Karen that her future is in the Knockouts' hands. He leaves it up to Velvet, Winter, Angelina, Tara, Tessmacher, and Traci.
Karen starts kissing ass, and sucking up to them. It leads to an in ring segment where Karen has brought cake. She tells the Knockouts that she likes them, and the reason she was hard on them was to toughen them up. She knew they could take it. The Knockouts fake like they're agreeing with Karen, and they tell Karen that she should get the first slice of cake since she's the boss. They slam the cake into her face, and she goes to the ground crying. Velvet grabs the microphone, takes a bite of cake, and says "You know Karen, this cake is pretty good. By the way YOU'RE FIRED!"
They proceed to drag her out, kicking and screaming.
There you go, they humiliate her, are the ones to get rid of her, and she avoids injuring the foot more.

I love the OP's idea and honestly wrestlers are asked to work injured all the time by the company, asking Karen to take a quick pin witought having a real match wouldn't seem immoral to me at all, the risk of further injuring her foot are minimal. But I guess she has a lot of backstage stroke and all...
I think geting a good outside substitute like Raisha Saeed and let her have a good long match with Mickie(lets face it it cant be Vel Vel) would have been good enuff payoff.

I don't care how it ended, as long as it's over.

I would have Sting call her into the ring and then just tell her to f*** off.
The End.

Is the storyline already over? I though Karen just had to get foot surgery. I know, kayfabe-wise, she's fired but I wouldn't put it past TNA to just put Karen right back into being control of the KO's when she is healed.
That said, if Karen was healthy, I like the idea of this being the pay off to the angle.
