So, I'm doing a new TEW Diary, although this one without cheating (as much). It will be set in April of 2002, so ECW and WCW have already been bought out by WWE, but only within the last year or so. As you can tell by the title, I will be running TNA. I won't be trying to imitate the real TNA in any way, just basically using the name and the set popularity in the dataset. The only things I'm changing in it are: -Turning "variance" on(meaning some stats, especially things like potential, may vary game to game, making each game more of a crap shoot and less easy from the onset) -Making it so that random wrestlers will be generated as well as real ones set to debut later. -Having TNA open in April as opposed June, although I probably wont have an April event. -I'm giving TNA the most money possible, like it's already owned by a Panda Energy-type corp. I'm not boosting their popularity to make them a more direct WWE competitor though. Beyond that, I will use an amalgam of real-life TNA's/other feds' ideas and my own. I won't be trying to imitate TNA, but considering the talent available I'll probably have a similar roster at first. Since I'm starting from the beginning, I'll be able to give way better posts about storylines, characters, shows, behind the scenes, etc. My first post will simply be a state of the game world, as it stands at the beginning of the game, April 2002.

So, it's April 2002. WCW and ECW are dead, the invasion storyline is over. New companies such as Ring of Honor look to fill the void left by the two defunct companies. A mogul enters the wrestling fray, looking to rekindle the spark of the North American wrestling scene, and he has just two words for anyone who looks to stand in his way.... The current heirarchy of wrestling promotions, based on popularity and importance, is as follows:
1)World Wrestling Federation 2)New Japan Pro Wrestling 3)All Japan Pro Wrestling 4)Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre 5)Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion 6)Pro Wrestling NOAH 7)Total Nonstop Action 8)Ohio Valley Wrestling 9)Pro Wrestling Zero-One 10)Ultimate Pro Wrestling 11)Xtreme Pro Wrestling 12)East Coast Wrestling Association 13)Combat Zone Wrestling 14)World Wrestling All-Stars 15)IWA-Mid South 16)Ring of Honor 17)Border City Wrestling 18)Jersey All Pro Wrestling 19)NWA: Wildside 20)All Pro Wrestling 21)Heartland Wrestling Association
As you can see, after the WWE, there isn't much of a scene in the United States or Canada above a low independent level.
Next post will detail my American competition a little more.

So, not gonna post the results for every show, from now on . Just the top 3 US(so currently WWE, myself, and OVW), and then just notable matches from other companies(90+ rated matches, title changes, etc). Will keep things flowing.

sorry that it's been a few days since an update.
University's spring semester(both my courses and my university funded job) started on the 9th, so between academia, work, and a social life I'm pretty tapped out. I've done all the character alignments and gimmicks, as well as my PPV schedule. Just need to make those posts.

Well, my computer randomly restarted, meaning I lost all of my gimmick-work. Anywho, I do have some new diary info to post about my Championship belts. I have one main title, but two mid-card belts of near-equal standing that serve different purposes in order to find future champions in a much quicker and easier fashion. _____________
So, in TEW, the roster is mainly divided by push, and those levels, for the active male roster, are Enhancement Talent, Opener, Lower Midcarder, Midcarder, Upper Midcarder and Main Eventer. For my championship belts, though, I divide it more into a 3-tier system, with the first tier being the top one. Here are my, at least at the moment, proposed championship belts
Tier One -NWA World Heavyweight: Once the top prize in all of wrestling, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship now calls and NWA TNA it's home base and serves as a benchmark of success in the company for both heavyweights and junior heavyweights alike. Will be fought over by Main Eventers and the Upper Midcarders.
Tier Two -NWA TNA X Division Championship: A "2nd-level title" title that is often times fought over in gimmicky matches that favor high fliers and junior heavyweights, however, their is no official weight limit for the title.
-NWA TNA North American Championship: This title belt is on the same level as the X division championship, but is usually fought over in standard singles matches, or gimmick matches that favor either brawlers or technical wrestlers, thus favoring a more heavyweight wrestlers, although, like the X Division championship, there are no weight limits tied to this belt.
Both of these belts will be fought over by Midcarders and Upper Midcarders
Tier Three -NWA TNA Television Title: This championship is a distinct level below the previous two championships. As of now, it is a TV title only in name, as I can't start taping a TV show for a couple months at the earliest, so for now it is simply my low-level single's title, fought over by enhancement talent, openers, lower midcarders and midcarders alike.
Other -NWA TNA Tag Team Championships: These essentially transcend a tier/push system, as success within the tag team division relies on team cohesiveness as much as placement on the card.
Eventually, I want to start a women's division, and possibly another tier 3-level title, although have this one be "X" to the TV title's "NA", so something gimmicky like a hardcore title or something.
