Just saw a story on Resistance Pro Wrestling on Comcast Sportsnet Chicago. It's owned by Billy Corgan and Melanie Cruise. Thought it was kind of interesting since hearing Corgan was getting into the business, I guess this is it. It's a Chicago based indy and Corgan wants to have a 60/70s style with modern elements. They mainly featured the interview on Cruise and her wrestling, being the champion. I was wondering if it is an all womens wrestling company or if they just decided to feature her in the story?

They probably just featured her because she is the women's champ. They are doing their second show tomorrow. Raven is doing the booking. Billy Corgan is gonna crown the first champion tomorrow.
What show was the story on? I'd love to see that.

It's actually owned by two brothers named Gabriel and Jacques Baron. Billy Corgan is their front man for publicity and writes the storylines.

Yeah, Steen outed recently that Corgan is only the figurehead.

Either way, I can't wait for this. It seems a lot different than most indies out there, and they're taking a chance by rebranding everyone instead of relying on their indy name recognition to get them by.
Hopefully, the booking and wrestling can stand up to the hype.

Cheerleader Melissa is still Cheerleader Melissa. etc...

Yeah, you're confusing it with WRP. That's the Jeff Katz project where they're rebranding everybody. Resistance is just an indy promotion using indy guys. On their first show, no babyfaces won any of the matches. Very strange.

I went to the show, it was totally awesome. Harry Smith is their champion.
I think Serenity is totally cute. She was against Melanie Cruse, the women's champ. She lost, I bet that's good exposure for her though.
I also got to talk to Raven briefly and got his autograph. He's supposed to be doing the booking.

I was there as well. This show was a vast improvement of the show in November.
What shocked me was how over kKevin Steen was with the kids that were there. The *ENTIRE* match all the kids were cheering for Steen, even getting a "Kids Love Steen!" chant from the adults. There were a few adults that got genuinely pissed at the kids constant cheering of Steen. It blew my mind. I guess I never saw Steen as a guy that kids could get behind. But if it works, it works.
I'm looking forward to next month's show. If they can do more shows like this, the better.

yeah, i was at the show as well, right up front and it was so much better than the first show. the 1 on 1 between El Generico vs PAC that turned into a fatal 4 way between El Generico, PAC, Petey Williams, and Matt Cross tore the entire house down, just an amazing match!
