So, I decided to pick it up finally after I'd heard a lot of negativity about it. I loved the first, so decided it was time. This game freaking rocks! I can't figure out why people don't like it since they improved the gameplay in pretty much every way as well as presentation of the storyline. The only thing I can think of are people who just didn't like Civil War, and wanted a direct MUA sequel that branched from the original story. So, anyone else really like it?

It's not a bad game, but the first game was WAY better. Deeper level up system, more RPG oriented, better story, characters....well, it's a push, I guess, but still. The sequel's good, the first installment is better.

I liked the second one. I think it was a bit better than the first, but I agree with Spanky that the first had some more depth to it. The stages looked more varied in the first than the second and seemingly had more stuff to it.

I never played the first so I can't compare the two, but I thought the second was awesome on it's own.

First one was better and no one liked Civil War even though the game dealt with it better.

The taking down of the DLC is what took me away from this I know it was a legal issue and all , but I was really lookin forward to playing with my favourite marvel female in Psylocke...it's shallow but After getting short handed in x-men legends using her only at the end , then not even getting to use her in ultimate alliance , I was really lookin forward to finally use her.
Dissapoinment abounds...but I did end up playing the game was fun but the whole limit characters to only 4 powers each just got boring very very quickly and veyr repetitive and not the good kind.

I actually didn't mind the limiting of powers in this one, mainly because in the first I would have a couple I really liked on a character, and barely touched the others anyway.

I do have to say, Doctor Strange became kind of a game breaker to me in the first game. That "Turn into box" spell he had was INCREDIBLY useful on every level.

It also depends, the PS2 version of the game is an entirely different and far more crappy & broken game.
The actual MUA2 game is a good game, not as good as the first one but still good.
The PS2 version is the balls.

Wasn't as intresting. MA1, you went to Atlantis, Mephisto's Realm, several of the Asgardian Dimensions, Murderworld, the Shi'Ar and Skrull Empires and so on.
It wasn't bad, but still.

The first game was basically a Marvel fans dream game. Great roster, iconic unlockable costumes, and a really good original story. The second game copied a story from the comics that virtually no one liked, a much less fan-pleasing roster, and most of the unlockable skins were costumes that were rarely used rather than classic or iconic costumes. And those are just the superficial reasons why the second one doesn't get very much praise. The gameplay was also nowhere near the quality of the first. The only thing the sequel had going for it were the graphics.

Oh yeah, and how stereotypically dirty commie was the Titanium Man? I was expecting him to chug a bottle of Vodka while doing the Cossack Dance at the end.

I must be the only person around here that liked Civil War it seems on top of everything. I like most of it, though it's the aftermath that pisses me off more.(Stark pretty much driving everything STRAIGHT to shit in the aftermath of the war, but never being anything BUT an arrogant jackass)

I can't hate a game that lets me control Warren Ellis' version of the Thunderbolts. I just can't.

I can't hate a game that lets me control Warren Ellis' version of the Thunderbolts. I just can't. This is absolutely true. Though, much as I love Speedball, I would have gladly traded Penance for Bullseye.

I did think it was kinda lame that Speedball wasn't his alternate costume.

What was the legal issue with the DLC being taken down?

Maybe its just my copy (for ps2) but i cant control the guns in the courtyard part. I can occasionally knock down one gun, but for the most part cap keeps dying while i either shoot wildly or try to aim.
