It was a fun game, the Civil War storyline kinda hampered it a bit. That was fun too; but just not as good as a 'stand alone' game mighta been.

IMO, the game was worth it just for Deadpool alone, especially if you play his level again with him in your party.

I liked the Civil War...
As a big brother whose little brother is 6 and just starting to get into video games, MUA2 has a soft spot in my heart because it is so easy that he can play it and get through the game easily.
The first one was actually very creative though

I had no knowledge of much about the Marvel-verse, short of X-Men related stuff, outside of this game. I, for one, enjoyed the Civil War, and felt it gave a fair shake to both sides of the plate. However, my argument that the resolution seemed awful rushed.
I guess I was sold on the Neversoft-RPG-element game with X-Men Legends, and REALLY wish that they would make another one of JUST X-Men. Couldn't be much worse than Destiny.
I guess I liked the first X-Men Legends game most of all because it took a character I had never heard of, Magma, and let you learn of the world through her eyes. It also taught me that there's different levels of X-Men mutants (and, I guess that the game made her an omega-level mutant), which is one of the things that got me into reading the Marvel Wiki more to learn about this stuff (I'm too poor and don't have the desire to "Linkara" myself through years of comics)

MUA 2 definately handled the Civil War nonsense FAR better than the comics ever did...even though Fury's reason for wanting to invade Latveria still doesn't make complete sense to me (was Fury positive that Von Barda even knew about the supervillains? She could have been played, or maybe even scammed or something...)
However, I love the first one far more than this. MUA had that good feelings kinda thing going on for it that I got from comics in the 80's and early 90's. Heroes are all friends, fighting all sorts of villains across a ton of different planets and dimensions and saving the universe...ect. I was annoyed as hell that Jean Grey and Nightcrawler's storyline or the whole thing with Galactus wasn't resolved in MUA 2.
There's also many things I see that just screams "Joe Quesada" in this game, and Joey Q is down there with Brian Micheal Bendis and Frank Miller on my "I dislike these guys" list. Just stuff he's done that annoys me, and it crops up in the game from time to time.

I think the first game is loved more because it feels like as you mentioned you get a real trip down Marvel's entire history and some of it seemed 'lighter' (inasmuch as a game including a trip to hell can) whereas with the Civil War story you're very much in one particular place in time/specific storyline; the former felt way more wide open.

In other news, I just unlocked Jean Grey... jesus, she's like the destroyer of worlds in this game.

I enjoyed the game but I felt kinda ripped off that no matter which side you picked, you ultimately had the exact same missons as the other which kinda made the choice meaningless But, Songbird was playable which pleased me.

I guess the appeal is different sides of the story and different characters... playing anti-reg side right now cause... I love some Captain America.

I didn't like that the add-on characters were de-certified from PSN a week earlier than they were supposed to be, so I ended up buying the game on December 27, and they were already pulled down (they were supposed to remain up until December 31).

I liked MUA2 up until the big villain of the piece is revealed to be the nano technology they were using gaining sentience which came across as lame.
Personally apart from there being no Ghost Rider I think the roster in MUA2 is much better than MUA, especially with the DLC which I have.

I don't hate it per say it just seemed much too short. That and I would have preferred another xmen legends game.

MUA was ASTONISHING, and MUA2 was underwhelming as far as story goes. I heard that the new X-Men game is crap, can anyone verify?

X-Men Destiny isn't crap, it's just a game that had so much potential and didn't deliver. If you like a good beat-em-up, wait for a price drop and pick it up. If not, skip it.

This got me too, luckily I caught it before they went down. Are they supposed to be put back up this holiday season?
