I wonder if bela lugosi regretted being in those ed wood movies. He might have regretted turning down FRANKENSTEIN, and as a result getting billing below Boris Karloff in any movie the two were in together after its success.

Meg Ryan. Cheating on Dennis Quaid with Russell Crowe. Killed her "good girl" persona.

In a lot of ways, Chloe Sevigny is still recovering from The Brown Bunny.
He still gets decent roles, but Costner never recovered from the Waterworld debacle, made worse by the Postman.
Charles Rocket said a bad word on SNL and *poof* - rising career, over.
Dana Plato getting fired from Diff'rent Strokes after getting pregnant.

Chloe didn't exactly have a huge career before that, her success came from Big Love which she was doing well with.

The jury won't be out for a while. Anyway he decided not to appear in Tarantino's 'Django Unchained' to play Jonathan Kent in Zack Synder's Superman. Personally I think he made the wrong call there. Hopefully I'm proved wrong on this one.

A few years ago I would of said Sandra Bullock for turning down Million Dollar Baby. But she eventually got her Oscar for a film I have not seen, but from the previews it looks like pure Oscar bait. So anyway. Good for her. -------------------------------- Also Adam Sandler could of played Eli Roth's part in 'Inglourious Basterds' and I know Sandler is still showing up. But that could of been really beneficial to his acting career. Adam Sandler also turned down the role to play Jamie Foxx's character in Collateral.

I was looking forward to seeing Costner in a QT film, but i'm going to guess the Superman role is probably a bigger role for more money. I loved Costner's work in the early 90's, but he has not recovered from The Postman. A drag he turned down the role, but Kurt Russell might be more suitable going by the description of the role.

Every actor in Rat Race. A friend and i were discussing the possibility that Rat Race was a mass murder on careers and we looked at what Whoopie Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr, Amy Smart, Breckin Meyer, Mr Bean, Jon Lovitz, Seth Green, John Cleese, and even SMASH MOUTH did after Rat Race....the results were not pretty as far as the actors careers in films went. I know some have gone on to some TV work. Hell, even Diamond Dallas Page's wrestling career went down the tubes shortly after doing a scene in Rat Race that was cut from the final release. I'm pretty sure that Seth Green and Breckin Meyer have enough money from Robot Chicken that they never need to work anymore. the rest though.... yeah I'll give you those.

And Whoopi on The View is a pretty big deal, imo.
Before Caruso leaving NYPD Blue there was Mclean Stevenson leaving M*A*S*H and Shelly Long leaving Cheers. At least Caruso eventually made a recovery.

Joaquin Phoenix making I'm Still Here ranks up there with me. A great actor turned into an incompetent fool all to prove a point which was pretty much pointless. He gained nothing from it and lost a ton of credibility.

Indeed. That film did NOTHING to damage DeNiro whatsoever.

Now Vin Diesel in the Pacifier on the other hand destroyed his career until Fast and Furious, aka the 4th.
And Rock hasn't been the same since Tooth Fairy.
