The Rays' chart is even better. Buried at around 10% in mid-September, then it takes off like a shot.

I lol'd pretty hard at this. No one tell my wife. I'm still kind of shaking my head at people being amused that the Yankees tanked. I have to give props to Girardi after I bashed him for his whining the other day. He could have gone out there and just flat out tanked it from the start. Instead, he played a pretty decent line up and played most of his relievers which is something he really didn't wan to do...but he kept the game honest. The Yankees didn't keep the Sox from the playoffs. The Sox crapped themselves and it's only fitting that their collapse ended with a loss to the worst team in the AL East when they were one strike away from winning and forcing the playoff game. For those that wished the Yanks would go out and intentionally tank against the Rays...I'm sure there's a joke about Yankees and integrity out there...but I'll not make it in respect to my friends who are Yankees fans and the fact that they made the Rays earn that win. Kudos to them.

I don't really like piling on a team that is already miserable, but holy crap, that article is the most Boston thing ever. You know how big your balls have to be to even suggest a comparison to the '27 Yankees? Seriously, look them up sometime. The numbers defy any attempt at explanation. LOUR GEHRIG HAD 117 EXTRA BASE HITS THAT YEAR, AND BABE RUTH BATTED BEHIND HIM, AND HE SLUGGED .772. I guess the lesson is never, ever compare a team with J.D. Drew to anything good, ever

Red Sox were 77-0 when leading after 8 innings this season. Think about that.

I don't care who wins the AL, I'm pulling for the Rays since I always like the lower-budget teams.
I just want the Cards to get one more shot at the Brew Crew, we're comin' for ya' T-Plush.

Cards / Brewers in the NLCS would be off the ****ing charts intense. And I hate those smug pricks, those sanctimonious, holier than thou jerks, but good god would that be good baseball theatre.

Probably the greatest night of baseball ever. Holy crap! So the Tigers are going to beat the Yankees. Besides CC, their pitching is pretty bad(and Verlander owns CC). JV and Fister are pretty much unbeatable at this point(combined 14-0 in the last 16 starts). I say Detroit in 4. Also, Yanks are getting murdered. Tigers in 4. Is Doug Fister going to slather his the palm of his right hand with pine tar this time around?
