Anyone else trying this social media experiment in the form of an online mystery?
I'm giving it a shot, but I've got a slight "disadvantage" of sharing the same name as the show's main character, so it's confusing when Gus is telling Shawn to tell Shawn something.
I can't wait to wrongly accuse someone.

Please explain, as this is the first I've heard of this Sure. There is a website set-up "www.hashtagkiller.com" That leads to an opening video (which can be found in the YouTube video below): From there, you can sign up (It links through a Facebook account, which disappointed me, but I dusted off my password for FB and did it anyway). It's planned to be (I believe) a 7 week thing (start at anytime) and is a Psych storyline specifically created for this experience, allowing fans to send and receive messages directly with Shawn and Gus, in an effort to solve the case." They're also taking this to Twitter accounts with: twitter.com/#!/PsychAgency twitter.com/#!/hashtagkiller And that's all I really have from now. There is a scoreboard, but it's kind of connected to the Psych-o's fan thing from their USA Network website. Every week the "Hashtag Killer" will apparently 'bump off' someone on the leaderboard.

The website has a FAQ, so I thought I'd post it here. {Spoiler} Q: Is there NO option to skip ahead? I started late and am stuck a day behind! It's no fun to play#HashTagKiller in the past!!
A: Hashtag Killer starts fresh with every player and runs 5 days a week for 7 weeks. That means that the person who joined the game on the launch day (September 28th) will be ahead of the person who starts on October 1. New weekly “episodes” are unlocked on Wednesdays. If you started the game after the launch day your story will run for consecutive days until you catch up with the launch timeline.
Don’t spoil the game for others! We love the tweeting but be considerate of fans who may be in a different place in the game.
Q: I'm curious, how do you get Gus/Shawn to respond to the "assistant's" comments in #HashTagKiller? & Can the #hashtagkiller prods read our exchanges with Shawn and Gus?
A: Shawn and Gus will only talk back to you after they’ve asked you a question. We are capturing your comments and are working on a creative way to use them. Keep it up!
Q: Will the call be archived in the evidence log? I am at work with no sound, I need to hear it when I get home!
A: All of the calls, crime scenes and videos are available by clicking a tab on the left side of your screen.
Q: Is there a place we can report bugs for#HashTagKiller?
A: Webmaster@usanetwork.com is always a good choice. We are trying to catch all the #bughunter tweets but if you send it to Webmaster, we’ll never forget.
Q: How ya get points for playing #hashtagkiller? I joined site, logged in to Club Psych...
A: You get points for logging in, points for sharing, and points for completing tasks throughout the game (that you may not have come to yet). There’s also a tie-breaker question at the end … If you are having trouble with your points your best bet is to email the webmaster.

Since I don't have Facebook, I guess I have to pass on this. Crud.

Yeah, the Facebook thing was a 'meh' to see. I guess they're just trying to cover as many of the social media sites as possible to build hype for this thing.
They've been having 'real-time' conversations with some good humor. The only case related thing so far (since the Hashtag Killer hasn't struck) is a 'phone call' from Shawn to Juliet.
