rockhall.com/blog/post/6574_2012-nominees-announced/I didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I'd share. As always, there are people who are left off that a lot of us think should go in but that's par for the course. For how their lists go, I think this one's pretty decent. Of course, it all comes down to who they actually pick to be honorees. I'm sure a few of the bigger names on the list won't make it because they don't want to overload a class with too many "headliner" type inductees. But there's our list to choose from. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

Man, if GNR gets picked, that will be the longest signature board in the history of ever.

Like, OK. I know GnR likely isn't getting in on their first shot at it. That being said, I can't wait. I can't wait as a massive fan of the band, but more so, just the spectacle that will surround it. Who will show up? Who won't? Is Axl going to find a way to run his mouth about it?
They deserve to be inducted, and I believe they should be as the original line up along with Sorum and Reed. I just hope that would be able to happen without a lot of drama and unnecessary bullshit.

Small Faces/Faces is a must. Then again, looking down the list I wouldn't have a problem with any of them being in. I don't know much about Freddie King and Laura Nyro but from I have seen, they are more than deserving. Still no George Michael though!

So were The Spinners, who I've been saying should be in there for years now.

I'd like to see The Cure get in, but I don't see it happening immediately.

I'd like to see The Cure get in, but I don't see it happening immediately. Yea I could see it someday down the road but I wouldn't get my hopes up this year. Then again, that's my rule of thumb about any artist/band I think should be in there. Faces were a pleasant surprise for me when I saw the list. So were The Spinners, who I've been saying should be in there for years now. I assume it's the American Spinners (called the Detroit Spinners here) and not the UK Spinners. I believe that it is.

Usually two major headliners go in the same year, so RHCP and the Beastie Boys are pretty much a lock in my book.

I don't want GNR to happen unless Axl stops being a bitch and makes up with Slash enough to do a reunion tour. We got David Lee Roth back with Van Halen eventually, so I'm holding out hope. Until then, here's hoping that RHCP headline this year.

Heart should be in already. GNR should make it but I doubt that they get in on the first ballot and if they do the bitching from Axl, Slash, and fans is going to be insufferable.

I'd love to see the Beastie Boys and Eric B. and Rakim go in.

I honestly don't even know why Eric B. and Rakim are on the list, but I want them in there.

Also, is it safe to assume Eric B and Rakim have zero chance.

Should Joan Jett go in with the Blackhearts? It seems like she should go in with The Runaways. It only seems right.

I understand the point, but to me that's a little unfair. If I'm Matt Sorum or Izzy Stradlin, I don't deserve to have my night delayed past whenever the committee decides I am going in because Axl can't get his head out of his ass and talk to Slash. Granted Izzy just may be too mellow to give a damn, but you get what I'm saying. Plus as much of a train wreck as it might be, I'd be as interested in the lead in to the induction as the induction itself. I know GNR, I know the personalities, I have a general idea what the induction would be like. I want to see it, but I'm equally if not more interested to see what in the world happens before that point. After it's been simmering for this long, I'd assume we'd reach an end point somewhere along the line. That might just hurry it along.
