Everybody knows that Seth voiced Joker to begin with so why not keep him in?

Why have it be a part of the existing games, when it could suck. With it not being the case, you can do whatever you want w/ the story and make it original and potentially part of the canon. It's like them releasing a ME novel for goodness sake. And that, I'm okay with.
Now, no Seth Green...bastards.

Everybody knows that Seth voiced Joker to begin with so why not keep him in? Cause it's Seth Green? Honestly, I can't take any movie with Green in it seriously. Make sense it's Male Shep, as he's on every single piece or merchandise and promotion for everything. And I don't care about the story as long as it's aliens vs humans/good alien alliance or whatever.

You know what happened the last time someone did whatever they wanted with a video game story and made it original when making it into a film? The Resident Evil films. Also, it bears repeating, if they aren't sticking to the games, why have Shepard, and I'm assuming the Normandy(because Joker is in the film at least)? Can't they, I don't know, make a film based on the First Contact War?

What if ME3 kills off Shepard in a heroic sacrifice?

Eh, it's a video game adaption movie. It wouldn't be the first film to totally uproot a plot.

I'm all for giving movies a chance but I think the VGM record so far speaks for itself

To be fair, so did the comic book film record. Not THAT bad Touche, but then that is to be expected when you let f***ing Uwe Boll get his hands on multiple video game franchises. He was given the House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Alone in the Dark, Far Cry, Dungeon Siege, and Postal franchises. That's a lot of franchises to give to a hack director. Marvel and DC wouldn't have been dumb enough to keep feeding a director like Uwe Boll franchise rights.

I'm not attached to Seth Green as Joker(just not a big fan of Seth Green) so that's not a dealbreaker. Honestly neither is the fact that they're going with an original story. As long as they can capture the spirit and atmosphere of the game, and the depth of the characters there lies the potential for a great, great movie. So long as they at least stick to the cast of characters the game introduced(you can make some up, but don't stray too far) then there's still a chance of making a fantastic film, why retell the same story from the games when the games themselves are compelling enough that you really don't need to retell it in movie form? You might as well change it up a little bit. I'm still EXTREMELY skeptical that Hollywood can produce a movie based on the Mass Effect universe that's worth a s***. But I'm willing to see how it turns out before making my mind up, if it sucks, whatever, Mass Effect never needed a movie anyways. It pretty much is a movie. EDIT: Eh, it's a video game adaption movie. It wouldn't be the first film to totally uproot a plot. Who play Shepard? Looking at that game covers, I dont know why, but Sam Worthington is the first name that pops in my head. I've had my fill of Sam Worthington trying to play Americans to last a lifetime.

The movie will be split into a double feature, and in between you are required to dig for minerals.

This movie can be salvaged if it's got a good director and if Liz Sroka is voicing Tali and Brandon Keener is voicing Garrus. If not, then hell, it died more prematurely than a krogan fetus.
