I'm talking about on a regular basis. I know he can have an entertaining match once in a while, but most of the time it's the same old get your ass kicked for most of the match and then make a super comeback, with little effort, for the win all the while no-selling the previous beatdown. Aside from his matches with Punk, I haven't seen a really good Cena match in years. The mania match with Batista, The last man standing match with Batista, The ironman match with Randy Orton, Last man standing with Edge, Batista at Summeslam 08, Hell, his match with Wade Barret(HIAC) was good in my opinion. None of those are any good to you? See how all those matches happened like 2 years or more ago? Nothing really to talk about lately. And the Barrett/Cena match wasn't anything special, aside from the unexpected ending.

And the Barrett/Cena match was just a great match no matter what.

The Extreme Rules Triple Threat, vs. Alberto del Rio, the television match with Rey Mysterio, and the Survivor Series Tag Team Match all happened in 2011. Granted, not going to say any of them are classics or event "great" (at least, not in the same sense that HBK/'Taker was great), but they were all very fun, very well-done matches that happened to involve John Cena in a big way.
He may not churn out MoTY contenders every time he steps into the ring, but he can always be counted on to put on a good, solid match. He can also put on a classic when he needs to.

Let's also put the Raw singles match against Miz at Rock's birthday.

Your issue is more booking related than an issue with Cena's skill. And the Barrett/Cena match was just a great match no matter what. Like I said, my problem is with the storytelling of his matches. His moveset and technical skills are fine. And I honestly can't remember anything from the Cena/Barrett match aside from the ending. The Extreme Rules Triple Threat, vs. Alberto del Rio, the television match with Rey Mysterio, and the Survivor Series Tag Team Match all happened in 2011. The only entertaining thing about the Extreme Rules match was Morrison. The Survivor Series match was only good because of The Rock and the crowd. I'll agree that Cena/Mysterio was one of the those rare decent matches. And Cena/Del Rio is a textbook example of what I dislike about Cena matches.

I realize he's not with the company anymore and hasn't been for quite sometime but there's always one guy that comes to mind when this comes up...
KENNEDY...

Ryder, as much as I admire what he's achieved and root for the guy, has never really been in a great match.

I dont think cena's bad actually just lazy. I do think he's not nearly the marvel some seem to tout him as though. Which leads me to my answer,Wade Barrett. Good god watching him wrestle is just....I feel like im watching a senoir citizen nursing home resident have a very boring seizure.

Jack Swagger. Just not at all what you'd hope he could be based on first impression. I agree.

I agree on the Miz and on Wade Barrett. Ryder is decent enough, but he is only passable in the ring.

Will everyone stop saying Cena please? When the booking is right, he's one of the best in the world with in-ring psychology. Khali aside, Cena generally cant carry anyone. But when he is with someone who is also great in the ring, he pushes it to another level. His PPV matches with Punk, his Iron Man with Orton, his matches with HBK, the man knows how to bring it.

There was no "carrying" in that match. Both guys brought their A-game.

What about Cena's match with Darren Young right after Summerslam? I remember being shocked by how good that was, and that's basically the definition of Cena being a ring general.

R-Truth
Love the guys gimmick but I just don't like his in-ring skills at all. Can't think of any memorable matches he's had whilst in the WWE.
