I'm just copying and pasting what I asked over at the fire pro club.
Okay, I keep hearing mixed reviews about WWE '12. IGN gave it a 9.0 but Game Informer gave it a 6.5 and trashed it pretty bad in the review. People that have played the game seem to either love it or hate it. I've heard a lot of people say that SVR 2011 was better. I haven't played either game yet, so I'm wondering if it's even worth it to buy WWE '12, or if I should just pick up 2011 on the cheap? Get as detailed as you want to on this, because I am seriously strapped for cash but really want a new wrestling title.

Game Informer's actual review came down entirely to the awful story mode and trust me, the actual gameplay and AI improvements make the game a definite improvement from 2011. It's not perfect and they managed to screw up some things 2011 got right, but 12 is very much worth purchasing.

Hmmmmmmmmm a moderately decent game that has great creation features but yet has a power hungry tyrant having a story mode that strokes his ego or the Megaman X7 of the SvR era.
*Plays Jepordy final answer theme*
I'm gonnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......mmmmmmmmmmm go with WWE'12 for $500 Alex.
To me WWE'12 is the better game. It plays faster and I like the face button controls and plus the Universe mode is alot better handled and it has some neat create features like create a tron & create an arena

WWE 12 for me. The creation options suit my style of play much better. Together with some fantastic extra bits in the CAW mode, Create An Arena and the new Universe customisation really makes everything seem so unique, rather than running Smackdown and pretending it's something else. There's a ton more in the moveset options, too. Also, the roster's fantastic.
That said, '11 had its upsides, and I'm sure a lot of people will point to the surviving crotch-blur glitch as an advantage to CAW making. I've got nothing against '11, it's just that '12 works better for my fantasy booking-type stuff!

But here's a few additional questions. What's going on with the community creations? I keep seeing people saying that it's down or something, is this a common problem? And does WWE '12 have the same TLC physics that they introduced in 2011? Seriously, the TLC physics, community creations, and Universe mode are really the only things that are even compelling me to buy a new WWE game.

Universe mode has been improved, TLC is pretty much the same, and Community Creations is pretty terrible - you can usually only access it without trying for ages at around 3 AM.

Community Creations: Hmmmmmm haven't used it much this year can't say WWE'12 TLC physics: From what TLC matches I've played. It seems so

If you mean the way the tables and ladders breaks, yeah they're the same in '11.

Only real physics difference in 12 is that the stairs have an odd amount of difficulty registering powerbombs. Also they turned Conchairtos and Pillmanizing over to being handled by the regular engine instead of being little cutscenes, which makes them look much, much less damaging.

I'm not too fond of having little cutscenes in the match so that's cool with me! That's a shame about the community creations only being easily accessible that late though. When you say "trying for ages" what exactly do you mean though? Like, would I be able to put the controller down and do some other stuff while I wait for it to connect, or is it one of those things where you'll keep getting error messages?

Like if you get far enough in the interface to actually search for a wrestler/arena/whatever, you'll have to actively sit there and refresh your search every 15-20 seconds because if you allow the search to time out, it'll take you back to the general XBox live menu, or even further back to the title screen to take on the challenge of even trying to get back into Community Creations in the first place.

Oh God dammit that sounds bad lol. I have a PS3 though, does anybody know if the problem is on both consoles?

It's hard to say a past game is better to me unless it really is that good, I really have no reason to go back to SVR2010 or 11 and might as well trade them in now, WWE 12 is the current wrestling game that most people play, make caws for, has the most up to date roster (not counting hacked/homebrew games) etc so obviously When WWE 13 comes out I doubt I'll be back on 12', and it goes on like that. I'll occasionally play SD2, No Mercy, Shut Your Mouth, HCTP, etc, and would consider them better games than the current ones, could be nostalgia, but those games although they're a decade old have alot of features and moves that the current games don't even have.
WWE 13 needs Slobber Knocker mode dammit!
