Do any newspapers still have wrestling results? I remember growing up, the Memphis Commercial Appeal always had the Monday night results from the Mid South Coliseum up until the demise of Power Pro Wrestling in 1998. They would have full articles on the happenings if something major happened. I know when Lawler won the AWA title it was front page news.
I also remember when wrestling was booming in the Attitude era there would be various articles here and there about the world of pro wrestling. For some reason I remember reading a kayfabe article about D-Lo winning the I-C title and becoming the Eurocontinental champion.

When I was a kid, the New York Daily News always had Raw/Nitro/Thunder/PPV results in the box scores section.
I used to clip them out and save them. Wonder if I still have them...

The Sun has them in their online edition and up until recently the Daily Star had a wrestling column on a Friday.

I remember listening to the radio in the car with my dad in 2004, and the results of the previous night's No Way Out PPV was discussed by the DJs.

I haven't read a newspaper in a long time, but I remember seeing some wrestling columnist in our local paper around 2003. I remember him saying that the HBK vs. Ric Flair match from Bad Blood 2003 was a decent match, but that 10 years ago it would have been a classic. I wonder how he felt when they did go on to have a classic 5 years later.

Since the late '90's, the Chicago Sun-Times has run an article by Blackjack Brown. It used to appear every Sunday, now it just seems to make random appearances, usually just regurgitating information about PPV cards.

They still have them in the box score. That's awesome! Do they still have the weekly column on Friday too? I think the writer was called The Slammer, and he wore a paper bag on his head with the eyes cut out. That was the closest thing I came to a dirt sheet when I was a kid.

I used to read that every Friday once I found out that it existed. I clipped a few but moved to Florida very shortly after discovering it. One of the few I remember was that LOD was going to have a dummy named "Freckles" and that "Razor Ramone" would be feuding with El Matador

I liked Blackjack Brown, he looked like the reputable attorney Clarence Mason. He still pops up from time to time. I think he would appear on Jonathan Hood's old nighttime show on the Score on Thursdays, which was "Thunder Thursdays" when J-Hood would talk wrestling for an hour. The old National Sports Daily would have a wrestling column by Dave Meltzer once a week. The big news I recall was the "real reason" WrestleMania VII was moved from the Coliseum to the Sports Arena. Was my first look at the "insider" part of wrestling that didn't involve wrestlers being arrested. *cough...Jim Neidhart, Chris Adams, Hacksaw Duggan & Iron Sheik...cough*

The Detroit News had someone who did a column every Friday for years. Last I heard though, the dude who wrote it turned out to be a pederast.

My local newspaper used to run Alex Marvez's syndicated pro wrestling column back in the late 90's-early 2000's.
