Was watching the new Stone Cold dvd, and when talking about winning the belt the first time, he said something to the effect of "When they give you the belt, that means they are putting their trust in you, you're their guy." Do you think this statement still hols for the WWE championship belt. *Sorry World Heavyweight belt*

It isn´t about the WWE Title or the WHC , it is about the title that is held on RAW! When you have the World Title on the Raw Roster, then you have made it and you are one of the chosen guys. If you don´t screw up big time, then you will always have a place in WWE.

The WWE title I think still is the same thing.
Championing the WWE is better than the world.

The WWE title? Yes. They really have to trust you to give you that belt. WHC? yes as well but less so than the WWE title. They have given the WHC to guys simply to see how they would do in the main event spot. More often than they have the WWE title.

Don't you get some non-kayfabe perks with the world titles? I think I'm right in saying you get first class flights everywhere you go to put over the prestige of the belts.

I'd say that this past year the belt really hasn't meant as much with the countless title swaps between Cena/Mysterio/Del Rio/Cena again/Del Rio again all the span of a few months. But it does still hold more value than the other belts.

To some degree it's still true, but it's not as true in the post-kayfabe wrestling world. When Jeff Hardy was champion, the company wasn't going to implode if he got arrested on drug charges or otherwise went nuts. Just vacate the belt and have a big tournament or battle royal to crown a new champion. No big deal.
John Cena getting in trouble would be a bigger black eye, so many that top spot is a lot more important than whoever happens to be champion. In the old days of the WWE, Cena would probably be champion for 5-6 years by now, because he is the top guy and the top draw. These days, not a lot of people want to see that though, and THAT is what makes the title less important.

When everyone and their mother gets a title run, especially all the young guys who clearly weren't ready when they were first given a run, then the significance goes way, way down.
