I bet they regret cheering for Bagwell. Yeah, I'm still wondering, why did they cheer for him and booed him later in that match with Booker. Supposedly the crowd in Tacoma were vehemently against any WCW that night, which is why the whole WCW project was ultimately scrapped in favor of the Alliance.

As a fan of WCW until their end, I can say I was happy we wouldn't see Jarrett in a WWF ring. To say I was tired of Double J by that time would be the understatement of the century. Too bad Vince couldn't do pull a heel in real life too and just not bring anyone on except the best of the best, like Rey Mysterio or on an as needed basis. DDP wouldn't have had the stalker angle and Invasion wouldn't be remembered as a failure. Just fire everyone and bring in some major talent later on. IMO Jarrett put out Vince too many times. The 1999 IC title run should have never gone down with Jarrett holding up Vince for money, as I think he should've never been hired back after leaving two times in the middle of angles. Once in 1995 when a Roadie fued was planned and second time before Ahmed could get true revenge on Jarrett. I like Jarrett so I'm not bashing him, but he was able to get over at a time when there wasn't much talent or so many guys had silly gimmicks.

So if that's true, we have Tacoma, Washington to thank for the Alliance...

I wouldn't be at all surprised if JJ was one of the guys under contract with Time-Warner whom WWF hadn't acquired anyway, and his "firing" was entirely kayfabed. This. I also think that Jarrett never even considered working for WWF/E ever again, knowing that he'd be in a difficult position and probably would get buried. I like Jarrett and I'm glad that he never worked for WWE. The same goes for Sting who is probably THE wrestler I respect the most. Vince probably offered a gazillion dollars to Sting just for a few matches, but Sting decided to keep his pride and turn each and every offer down. Steve Borden is probably well off and does not have to wrestle if he does not want to. TNA is what he does for fun, I guess. EDIT I like Jarrett so I'm not bashing him, but he was able to get over at a time when there wasn't much talent or so many guys had silly gimmicks. Jarrett has tons of charisma and is good, especially when there is self-irony to his gimmick. Double J, Double M-A and King of Mexico are examples of how entertaining he can be. He's also a great technician in the ring. I think he's certainly better than many of the guys WWF hired. I think he's one of the most underrated wrestlers of all time. Yes, his reign of terror in TNA was annoying, but ever since he stopped hogging the main events he proved that he really is a total package of charisma and skill.

I don't know about Jeff, but they did open talks with Jerry Jarrett, didn't they? As far as getting Memphis footage that Lawler didn't have a hold of. They've been in talks with Jerry for years not haven't they? Didn't Jerry bring Vladimir Kozlov to WWE after he broke ties with TNA? Jerry is a longtime friend of the McMahons, and Jeff mentioned in a 2010 interview that Vince gave his condolences to him after his first wife, Jill, died from breast cancer. Source: Jeff Jarrett recalls his father being poised to take over WWE if Vince McMahon had been convictedLooks like that Jeff and Vince are once again on speaking terms. Didn't I hear that Jeff's major beef wasn't with Vince, but with Jim Ross and Steve Austin? I recall that in WCW, Jeff (and Vince Russo) took shots at JR.

I remember hearing Russo take a shot at JR after Spring Stampede where he had that big celebration for the New Blood and said JR can kiss his ass.

I think nobody ever saw JJ as a big deal so it wasn't a shock. He didn't say Sting you're fired or Goldberg or Hogan or nobody magor. He was fired a midcarder so it would be like Vince buying TNA and saying "Kaz you're fired!". Not really. Jeff Jarrett was a former WCW Champion, Kaz is a former X-Division Champion which is like....so what? A better comparison would be someone like Mr. Anderson being fired. Anderson is bigger in TNA than Jarrett was in the scheme of things in WCW. All people remembered as WCW stars were Hogan, Savage, Flair, Piper, DDP, Sting, Goldberg, Luger, Giant, etc...Even when JJ was WCW champ it was in the darkest days and he felt like a tv champ nothing more.

That would likely be since I think JR and Austin had been among those who shot down an Austin/JJ feud, but that's only a guess on my part as to bad blood. That said, that was around 10 or 11 years ago, so it's beyond me if it's still ongoing.

I bet they regret cheering for Bagwell. The heat Lex Luger got there is pretty funny, as is the fact that Hogan got boos at ALL, given that once he did return, it was to roaring cheers. Also, the love for Stiener is awesome, and the main thing that segment did for me was solidify that Goldberg should have been the centerpiece of either the "new" WCW, or the InVasion. I'm of the mind that The InVasion should've been handled like ONS II, with Austin (heel) v. Goldberg (monster face) as the main event, kicking off the new WCW product. In addition, I'd have had the tribe of ECW guys be the first antagonists of the new WCW.

I have said it once and I will say it again, DDP is the biggest victim of WWE revisionist history, with Jeff Jarrett being a close second.
