Just completed one of the parts of one of my first Columbia journalism school assignments. I was given a camera and asked to take 100 pictures of one person. I was given the camera at 5:00 p.m. yesterday and the pictures are do at 2:00 p.m. today, so less than a 24 hour time frame. The photos could be of anyone. Me being completely new to New York and not wanting to be totally lazy and take pictures of the guy I'm staying with decided to go out. However, not too far as I got two construction workers, working on a leak outside of the journalism school.
Although I focused on the one guy, it was nice that he had a co-worker there working with him to help establish the setting. I even got some of his supervisor there too. I think I got a nice little story.
My question, if you were given this assignment who would you go after or what kind of person would you look for. Keep in mind people, like Mickie James and Maria would be pretty damn hard to get access to, especially in less than 24 hours.

If you're in NYC, hookers.
Where I'm at, there are tons of crazy old people so probably them. ...And I mean legit crazy as in ex-state school people. Luckily, I move like the wind.

I think it would have been cool to focus on a hot dog street vendor. You could take 100 pictures of him and all the interesting people that come up to buy a hot dog or sausage....

would you have been able to use the camera as the eye's of one person? you could have taken 100 photos from behind a counter in a shop or bar (with permission from the owner and subjects of course.) of anyone who wanted to help.
