I seriously need to get one of my teeth removed. The pain has reached an unbearable level and I really need to go to the dentist -- it's night time already so it's going to be several more hours of pure hell for me. I also have a headache due to it. I need some cheering up, seriously.

Damn, looks like I won't be able to sleep tonight. The only thing that's helping my tooth a little right now is chewing gum -- blocking it out from the cold, which in turn blocks out the pain.

Ooh, really bad times.
My brother had an infected tooth, and the doctor gave him Vicodin. So, if you don't post here for a little bit, we'll assume you're in dream land.

Try to drink some really hot coffee or tea or something similar and let it sit in the area where the tooth is for a few seconds before swallowing. Or similar tricks using heat. I had a problem with this years ago and found that while taking a hot shower and letting the water hit the cheek at that area, it would temporarily soothe the pain. So basically just anything really hot could soothe it for a few moments.

Beats what I did when I had one: poke it with my tongue and suck on the cavity until pain shot through me so badly, it more or less went numb for long enough for me to falls asleep. Though, I then had marks inside my mouth from CHEWING in my sleep, in some attempt at easing the pain. I feel you man.

I cracked a wisdom tooth in half about 10 years or so back, and had to spend a week waiting for payday so I could afford a dentist. For that whole week, I lived on KFC's mashed potatoes and gravy, because it was scorching hot and soothed the pain without being too solid to have to chew.

Ooh, that's got to hurt.
I had a tooth in such bad condition, it broke in half while I was eating Cheetohs.
At that point, it was dead and hollow, so it didn't hurt.

The tooth itself didn't hurt really. My wisdom teeth were weird - they came in straight and painless, but they were only shells, nothing inside them, so they all busted up really fast. No actual pain from the tooth, but at the same time, I had an ear infection, which spread to the jaw where the tooth was.

Hold some whiskey in your mouth over the tooth. I've had plenty of tooth aches from infection, antibiotics are about the only thing to kill the pain, but holding whiskey over it for like 30 seconds or so really numbs it up for a little while.

Maybe the alcohol is able to kill some of the germs? No clue. And I'm pretty sure salt water is only good for sore throats, could be wrong, though.

Sounds like someone might need a root canal...
I had this exact type of pain about a month ago, and had a root canal 2 weeks ago today. It's so much better.

Thanks for the advice, cheering up, and other stuff. Well, I slept with a hot pack on my face and chewing gum stuck in my mouth, and the pain's all gone in any case. After checking in the mirror I found out that it was actually a wisdom tooth growing with a weird shape. It kinda looks like four pointy mini-teeth, since there's nothing much in the center. Weird.
I might get it checked out in the dentist in a week or so, since I'm cheap, but if the pain returns I'll do it earlier.
