How bout just play music videos instead ? I totally believe MTV giving up on videos has a lot to do with the failing music industry. The fact is that a lot of people are lazy and dont bother to discover music on their own. If MTV played a lot of videos people would discover new bands and buy it like they used to. Maybe not buy the music but at least be aware that theres new stuff out there. YouTube, brother. Nobody's going to wait for MTV to find videos when they can go find them by themselves in 3 seconds flat. It makes no business sense for MTV to air music videos primarily in this day and age. MTVHits plays music 24/7, but I wouldn't look forward to MTV doing it with the birth of the Internet, it makes no sense. Yea, there's youtube for music videos, but how many shows on tv are there that play youtube videos? Something changed over time and MTV admits that advertisers want programming that can keep people tuned in for 30 minutes or hours at a time, and since with videos, the programming changes every 3 or 4 minutes, it's too risky

As long as MTV Jams and MTV Hits exist, I'll be fine.

I wonder how much it costs to show videos, if the prices went up at some point. Shows with just youtube videos don't have to deal with all the copyright stuff you'd get with music.

Wayans Bros., Martin, Malcolm & Eddie, and recently, Boy Meets World. Don't know if I'm missing any. So other then Boy Meets World, nothing exciting! Those other shows are decent to good, so I have no idea how this is funny? Anyway, at least VH1Classic is still good, right?

Did anyone else here have The Box in its original incarnation? Where you could call and request videos for them to play? I loved that channel, I had it from Fall 2000 - some time in 2001.

Does MTV or MTV2 ever play videos anymore? Like at all? Probably still early in the morning or during overnight. I usually go to MTVU because they are still all videos I think.

Anyway, at least VH1Classic is still good, right? Only if you dont like music from the past 20 years or so. Hence the term "Classic".

120 Minutes is weekly now instead of monthly but they put it on Fridays at 6am which is such a dumb timeslot. Bury music videos during the early am and stupid sitcoms/reality shows during the day. Typical EmPtYTv strategy.
