I went to a 70s disco party the other night and had absolutely the time of my life. I'm still picking glitter out of my hair, but I did notice some things.
I've been a metal head most of my life, but I couldn't believe how many disco songs I not only knew, but knew most of the words too. I can't say that about a lot of early 90s metal, and that was when I was growing up.
For as much flack as it takes, Disco really is a timeless music and you can put on those songs at any party today and get them dancing.
Party on

I love disco music. I'm into basically anything '70s and I love to dance. There's nothing for me not to dig about disco.

I dare anyone to have Stayin Alive in their heads and NOT strut.
I tried singing Stayin Alive on key at a karaoke party once. I made it 3/4 of the way through and then my voice exploded and I haven't been able to sing right since.

Can't get enough of it. Sylvester, Donna Summer, Giorgio Morodor, Chic, even some of the Jacksons' late 70's stuff- all amazing.

I think a lot can be done with the concept of disco... Many more modern acts have used elements of disco to their benefit. It's just a shame that 75% of the disco that was big in the late 70s was just garbage. Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall", I would consider a disco album, and it's probably my favorite album of all time. This coming from someone who listens to largely experimentaly music.

I heard "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind, & Fire used as part of a song on one of my 90's compilation CDs.
The best part? The sample came out of nowhere...it was amazing!

Disco is a swear word in my opinion, utter trash.

The Bee Gees are one of my favorite bands, so I can't hate Disco too much. I find a lot of Disco to be pretty bad over all, but I grew up on The Bee Gees so I'll always have a soft spot for them.

Disco is awesome and gets a bad rap that it doesn't deserve. It's fun and it makes me want to dance, and I hate dancing.

Sorry but I am not related to Disco Inferno, even though I watch his matches. Wait, what are we talking about again?

My mom was heavily into the disco scene when she was a teenager, so I was kind of raised on what she listened to.
My taste on disco very much depends on the song or the artist. I can enjoy most of the classics, but I'm not into the genre as a whole.

Not a huge disco fan, but I love the fact that bass was up front in most of the songs' mixes, being a bassist and all.

I love the fact that bass was up front in most of the songs' mixes, being a bassist and all. This has always been a plus to me. R&B, soul, disco, funk... all genres in the 70s really cast some much deserved lght on my favorite instrument to play.

Very few disco songs get me moving on the dance floor. Celebration and a few others maybe. I'm more funk and R&B. I'll take James Brown over disco any day.

I love seeing women in 80s videos. It is just like seeing women in wrestling back in the 80s. They looked like regular people, just like most of the male wrestlers, who looked like ham and eggers.
