And "Helter Skelter" is largely considered to be one of the heaviest songs ever.

Kerrang blows but bravo for putting Converge on there. That list is random as hell. But Jane Doe is a very f***ing heavy album and deserves its spot.

When I first heard Slipknot I thought it was the heaviest thing ever. Granted I was young and hadnt heard much real metal yet.

Hmm...Beatles but no old Funkadelic? Folks, look up "Alice In My Fantasies" and tell me Clinton and co. were not heavy!

To be fair they were talking about the actual metric weight of the physical product.

The beatles are not metal! Crappy list... and for the most part all those bands are more "Mainstream" metal bands.

Clearly they have to explain themselves.
Beatles and Mastodon? Uhm...

Not a bad list I don't think. Nice to see Iowa actually get some frickin attention, it feels like to me everybody hated that album and its my favourite Slipknot album.
Props too for Machine Head and Converge, surprised to see 'Jane Doe' so high.

I just can't take that list seriously without Painkiller. Somehow an album that has Revolution 9 qualifies, but Judas Priest's masterwork doesn't?

any such list that leaves out Cryptopsy's "None So Vile" album doesn't know what heavy is.

I like seeing Machine Head on there but there are albums heavier than that. You suck Kerrang.
