I don't get what everyone sees in Styles. I think he is LOST out there. I was watching Raw this week and I didn't even know he was THERE at first. I honestly just thought it was King and Coach (something too horrible to even think about).
I really do think they are trying to push Coach as the main announcer. Styles seems to have trouble speaking over him. Styles introduced Raw, he talks before the ad breaks (play the shot game where you have to drink everytime Coach says "are you kidding me?")
Styles may have been great before (I'll take people's word on that) but he's fading fast on Raw. And I don't think he even looks like he wants to be there.

Yeah it does seem like Styles is lost. He seems to talk less and less now. Which is a shame, because his first night in WWE, with just him and King at Taboo Tuesday, he was great. He seems to be going rapidly downhill, while Coach is slightly improving.

If Vince would just let Styles be himself, then the commentary would be that much better.
And get rid of Coach. Coach just leaves less room for Styles to speak.

Smackdown commentary team should be Dusty Rhodes and Booker T
Raw commentary team should be Styles/Tazz
Cole should replace Kristal as backstage announcer for Smackdown, Coach should be fired, and the King should be fired as well

Smackdown commentary team should be Dusty Rhodes and Booker T Well, as funny as that would be, I kind of like being able to understand what the announcers are saying.

If anyone wants to know why fans hold Joey Styles in such a high regard, you should watch some ECW matches. Now admittedly, WWE is a much different beast than ECW. For one, Joey was on commentary all by himself in ECW. Therefore he had complete control, and he did not have to share the reigns with two other guys. Being part of a team of 3 is way different than just going out there and handling everything.

I'll never understand why Piper isn't working commentary. He has nothing better to do, and he was pretty good at it.

You wanna know how commentary is supposed to be?? Watch the Youtube match of Bret/Owen vs The Steiners. That is how commentary is suppose to be.

Suckas gots to know!
Coach is decent but Lawler is terrible. Smackdown is better but neither team is 1/1000th as good as Gorilla/Bobby. I'd have Styles with Paul Heyman or Arn Anderson on Raw and fire Lawler. I think Anderson would do great in that position. Keep Coach as a secondary backstage interviewer.

Gotta say I dont understand all the Coach hatin'.
My ideal announce teams:
RAW: Coach and Styles
SMACKDOWN: Mathews and Heyman
VELOCITY: Tazz and Cole
HEAT: Grisham and Coach - I actually dont mind them.

I guess it does not help that Vince McMahon is telling them what to say from backstage. So I'm guess that Vince will want J.R to be back at WM, cause he can't tell Styles what to do while wrestling his match.
As for Cole and Tazz. I think they are holding back or something. They commentate on the New Japan matches on the Benoit DVD and shock horror they are good. Which makes me wonder why don't they commentate like that all the time?
I'd ask Cole myself but he will probably tell me to love off!

Tazz and Cole are no Heenan and Monsoon, but they do have enough chemistry to improve a match with their commentary.
That said, if CM Punk isn't going to get a chance to wrestle for WWE, then by God, put him in the commentary booth with Styles instead of Coach. He is an awesome color guy.

I got one simple soloution to the problem bring back Vince as the announcer for Raw and fire Styles. Styles was good in ECW because there was no one there to carry his weak ass until they brought in Don Callis who was even worse than he was.

Coach doesn't know what the hell he's talking about sometimes. It's not even being heel. He makes stupid mistakes like what Cole does sometimes, like saying a certain a person had never tapped out.

I've been saying to bring back JR since they got rid of him. I know alot of people watch wrestling for the well, wrestling, but i prefer the storylines and JR could really elevate a story with his shouting and his cathphrases. Now, im sure Styles can do the same, i've been told he can, but he hasn't since being in the WWE, half of that has to do with the fact that he cant talk over the others and half i think seems to be that he isn't really all that interested. JR used to get me excited to watch any match, Styles doesn't. Im hoping at the next brand trades etc. they swap the commentators around and let LAwler go back to being a heel commentator, he was so much better at it than Coach is. I agree. No matter how stupid the angle, JR would always get me hyped up for it.

I always liked Coach when he and Al Snow were in the booth on Heat, but he does seem like a hanger-on in the RAW booth. The times he hasn't been there, a certain level of "awkward stepping on each other's lines" that happens with Coach hovering around.
Vince wants over-shilling, that's what Coach is doing there. I don't see the problem with just Joey and King. I think they do well together. It harkens a little back to the older teams we all loved.
Vince back in the booth would be gold. I'd mark like crazy for that. 'Mr. McMahon" in the booth would make me take a hostage.
And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who likes Booker T doing commentary. He does have a skill for it, even if it's mostly used to entertain the guys in the back. I'm running that company? I'm keeping him around long enough to get him under the headset for a long-term gig.
