Slap on the wrist sentence, but at least he loses his license.

No surprise there to be honest.

Slap on the wrist sentence, but at least he loses his license. Slap on the wrist in terms of jail, but the court of public opinion's not going to be so kind to him.

I read on TMZ a couple weeks back that due to overcrowding he's probably get less than 2 years stuck at home because of not having a criminal past

Judge just ruled that Murray will be in jail until 11/29, when he'll be formally sentenced.

Normally I'd disagree with this sentance, like if he overprescribed him or something, but because he gave him the shot himself I can't argue at all.

I'm not going to lie, I somewhat wanted to see Conrad Murray be found not guilty. The reaction of the Michael Jackson fans would have made the general public's reaction to the Casey Anthony verdict seem rational.

How do I describe my feelings right now?
I am happy because it was the right decision given Murray's actions before and after MJ's death. I am pleased to see justice done for Michael's kids.
But I will admit I was shocked to see him taken into custody right away, complete with handcuffs. I think the decision was made a.) to make sure he would show up on the 29th and b.) I may be satisfied with the verdict, but there may be some irrational fans out there who may still want to hurt him.
At the very least, license gone, heavy fine. He'll pay more with the civil trial. As for serving jail time... I don't know. I ask myself what would Michael want and I think he'd be OK with the license and fine too. He knew what it was like to have a life ruined and I am not sure he'd want the same for someone else.

Personal take is that heaven forbid Jackson be held accountable for his own death.

Just everyone wants someone to blame to keep up his demigod status he's had since dying. Granted, what he's getting isn't as bad as I was expecting. I was figuring they were going to hang the guy out to dry as some stupid make-good for his death.

That's mostly being generated on the part of MJ's family. They, like his fanbase, are hurt and they see Murray's conviction as at least a smidgen of closer. Michael was a deeply troubled drug addict, that's not up for argument. But his musical legacy isn't going to be lessened by that anymore than Lennon's and Cobain's personal problems.

It's blatant scapegoating just so they can pander to the fans who would probably go ape if he'd walked.

True, but it just comes off like trying to sweep all of his problems under the rug entirely. Not surprising, though, given the same's been done with people like Anna Nicole Smith and she contributed a whole hell of a lot less than Jackson did.

but the man's a doctor. As a doctor, you have to take responsibility for what you prescribe and administor to your patients, regardless of their celebrity or insistence on getting drugs.

Jackson has serious issues. By no means should he escape blame here.
That being said: Murray as a doctor, shoulda known better. He was negligent

Sure, it would have been cool to see him walk free just because of the reactions, but dude was basically a s***ty doctor. He was just mad negligent and it just so happened to involve the biggest entertainer...ever. Oh well. Hopefully he reemerges as a rehabilitated man *Buddy Christ pose*
