I cannot wait for this film. It's currently on 100% at RT. If it's half as good as the BBC version from the late 70's, it could be the best film of the year.
The Cast is...
Gary Oldman Colin Firth Benedict Cumberbatch Ciaran Hinds Kathy Burke John Hurt Mark Strong and Tom Hardy
And it's Directed by the guy who Directed Let the Right One In.
Could this be the film that finally snags Gary Oldman an Oscar Nomination (how the f*** has he never been nominated?) or even better, an Oscar Win?

Saw this movie last night and was blown away.
It was absolutely bloody awesome. I mean, it was pretty 'grown up' and you had to pay attention in order to get what was going on all the time, and I did miss one bit cos of a quick make out, and so a bit later on I wasn't sure on, but yeah, seriously, really good film.
Oldman and Cumberbatch led the cast, pretty much perfectly, while John Hurt and Kathy Burke provided brilliant support. Toby Stephens stole the show for me, and Tom Hardy showed that he really is one of the best character characters out there who isn't a household name.

Finally saw this today and thought it was the best film I've seen this year. The entire cast is brilliant but this is Gary Oldman's film and he is superb in it. He has to get an Oscar nomination for this performance. The film was so tense and I love how it didn't rush anything. The scene where Smiley takes his shoes off and sucks on a mint was edge of the seat stuff.
