Fun fact: "Teenage Wasteland" was the original name for Baba O'Riley when they were still working on it. Then Pete Townsend used it for something else entirely.

I was just about to post that I never heard the song Teenage Wasteland but did hear and enjoy Babba O'Riley. Does anyone know why the song is named Babba O'Riley? A woman I used to work with said that they say Babba O'Riley once in the song but I never heard it and I listened to the song a lot.

Teenage wasteland was going to be the name of That 70's show at one point.

It's the same thing as James Brown's "Sex Machine". Which is actually titled "Get Up (I Feel Like Being a) Sex Machine". It's like, everyone's going to call it "Sex Machine", so why not just name it "Sex Machine"? Same thing with Baba O'Riley; everyone's just going to call it "Teenage Wasteland", which is a better title anyway, since who in the blue hell is "Baba O'Riley"? Gah.

I don't care. It's Teenage Wasteland to me and everyone else. If The Who don't like it, they can suck it.
