So far as I'm concerned, that's the most reasonable response to an absence of Pokemon.

That s*** would not have flown when I was a kid. It will not fly with me if I ever have kids. That is instant leaving the store material. Going to the toy store was kind of a rare thing for me anyways, not due to a lack of money but due to my parents. My dad's policy was toys for special occasions, but bookstores anytime. Of course, my grandma more than made up for that with what she would do for our birthdays - Toys R Us trip with a 100 dollar spending limit. That might as well be a million dollars when you're a kid.

Two things are raised in my mind when I see the video:
1. I do wonder why an innocuous and boring conversation was being filmed in the first place.
2. If that was my kid, I would have to talked out of giving the little bastard up for adoption by my wife. Not even joking. I'd be so embarrassed I can't even comprehend it.

That looked a little too...dramatic. I know he's a kid, but I can't shake off this feeling of this being well acted. Just look at his body language and tell me that's something you wouldn't see in a movie or something.
But kids are kids, so I'll won't listen to my gut this time, and believe this is true. I never threw tantrums like that, but instead gave my parents the silent treatment and the cold shoulder. That s*** would not have been put up with.

I've seen kids do this. I watched a lady walk out with her son that was throwing s fit something like this. So it can happen.
My son would never try this. He knows throwing a fit doesn't get him what he wants.

See if this kid were 5 it would be different, but the kid looks to be like 12-13. Grow the f*** up and look at porn or something kid. You'll never get girls showing off your Pokemon card collection. Why are pokemon cards still around anyway? I had some cards when I was in 6th or 7th grade..... in 1997-1998.

My parents tell me that my brother and I were never bad at toy stores or anything. I think, for one, we knew it wouldn't get us anything, and secondly my parents were smart about using the "Well, put it on the list and maybe Santa might bring it" card.

Do parents have to buy their kids EVERYTHING nowadays as well? Then the one time you say no they freak out. I never got anything as a surprise as a kid and it made me a better person. I'd go into a toy store and hint at my mom to get me something but it was always a no. Oh well. I lived.
